Question about Samsung 94V 19 inch LCD Monitor

Unable to select the correct screen resolution with GeForce 6150

I have Vista Home Premium (italian) and a GeForce 6150LE, embedded with an Asus M2NPV-VM motherboard (nForce 410). My problem is that when I try to use *ANY* driver different than the original Vista WDDM driver (, with my Samsung 94V monitor, I can't select any different resolution from 800x600 or 1024x768. The native resolution of my monitor should be 1280x1024. I've installed the latest fix from Windows Update and also the Compatibility patch. I tired to force Windows to use 1280x1024 resolution by changing the system registery but i had no chance... What can I do?

Ensure that your video setting is at 60hz when at 1920x1200. According to the specs of your monitor, the freq from the video card might be set to something higher.

Go into advanced settings from the settings tab of "display properties" and select the "monitor" tab, from there, try changing the refresh rate. Toggle "hide modes that this monitor cannot display" if you do not see any other settings in the drop down other than the one that is already selected.

SOURCE: windows 7 wouldn't detect 1600x900 resolution

Try setting your color depth to 16 bit first then 1600 X 900 and try a reboot to see if it stays. Use only the windows display manager to do this, not the catalyst control. If the resolutions stays you can try setting it back to 32 bit and saving. The true max settings will appear in your windows display manager, and not always in third party display management software.
Trust that before you trust Catalyst or magictune.
Remember not to force the resolution above what windows considers safe, even if you know the monitor can handle it. Also bear in mind that Win7 is not fully ready for some things yet, even if Microsoft says it is.
I never trust a new Microsoft OS to be fully compatible with anything, no matter what the press statements report. So far this has kept me from destroying many components that may have otherwise become damaged or corrupted.

Unable to attain 1024x768 screen resolution on my generic pnp monitor (asus eee pc 900hd)

Verify that you have the correct and most recent video drivers installed on your system. The video card is what delivers the appropriate resolution to a monitor.
This will depend upon if you have the default installed Linux OS designed for the Netbook or if you installed Windows XP on it.

1920x1080 resolution-entire screen not viewable

This also happens to my vga connection to my TV.
I used my tv remote "auto" button to re-size it to fit correctly.
If your monitor/TV does not have the adjustment, you may need to
supply your vga compatible device with your monitor's driver software.
This tells your computer what monitor specifications you have.

Connected my Samsung 206bw to my new computer using a DVI cable and I have faint (but very noticeable) vertical lines similiar to brush marks in paint. The computer is a Vista Home Premium 64-bit, Intel...

try using a ifferent dvi cable.if that doesn't work then try a different monitor.if those don't work then it migh be the onboard dvi connecter on the comp.are the images there all of the time or when the computer log ons.disconnect the monitor and see if the lines are there.if so then it is burnt in image on the screen.if not it is something vista is doing to the screen.

When I boot into Windows Vista Premium nothing on screen

In Safe Mode, your monitor will not be listed as it is using a generic device driver for basic display. Go into your video settings and reset it to the lowest resolution available. Reboot the computer into Vista again and your display should be working. If you check Device Manager now, you should see your monitor listed. If it isn't, you will need to load the Vista drivers for it. You can then modify your display settings to suit your preferences.

My HP monitor (f50) has malfunctioned

Try these 2 steps if they don't work get back to me :)

Step 1. Connect the video cable and turn on the computer. What happens?
  • If the monitor screen remains blank (no startup screens or onscreen display messages), the monitor must be connected to another computer using a different cable to determine if the monitor is bad. Skip to the Step to connect the monitor to another computer.
  • If the monitor is capable of displaying boot screens but is unable to display Windows, use the following steps to set the computer to a compatible resolution:
NOTE: Find the native display resolution for your monitor in the User Manual or in the product specifications for the monitor model. If you are unable to find the native display resolution for your monitor model, temporarily use 1024x768 for troubleshooting purposes.
    1. Turn on the computer and press the F8 key repeatedly when the first startup screen appears.
    2. If you are using Windows Vista, select Enable low resolution video (640 x 480) , press Enter , and wait until Windows opens. To set display settings that match the monitor, use the steps in the HP support document, Changing Display Settings, Background Image, and Screen Saver in Windows Vista . If you are using Windows XP, select Enable VGA Mode , press Enter , and wait until Windows opens. Continue using these steps to set display resolution. If you are using Windows 98 or ME, select Safe Mode and perform the following steps to enter into a standard VGA mode:
      1. Once Windows opens to the desktop in Safe Mode, click Start , and Run .
      2. In the Open field type msconfig and press Enter . The MS Configuration Utility window appears.
      3. Click the Advanced button, and select VGA 640 x 480 x 16 if it is available.
      4. Click OK and restart the computer.
      5. After Windows opens, click Start , and then click Run .
      6. In the Open field type msconfig and press Enter .
      7. Click the Advanced button, and remove the checkmark next to VGA 640 x 480 x 16 .
      8. Click OK . Do NOT restart the computer.
    3. After Windows opens, right-click on an open area of the desktop and select Properties (Windows XP, 98/Me) or Personalize (Windows Vista).
    4. In Windows Vista, Scroll down and click Display Properties . In Windows XP, 98, or Me, click the Settings tab.
    5. In Windows Vista, select the native display resolution size using the Resolution slider. Set Colors to Highest (32 bit) . In Windows XP, select the native display resolution size using the Screen resolution slider. Set Color Quality to Highest (32 bit) . In Windows 98 or Me, select the native display resolution size using the Screen Area slider. Set Colors to True Color .
    6. Click Apply after you have made your adjustment. The screen should blank out temporarily and come back.
    7. If you are satisfied with the new display settings, click Yes on the Monitor Settings windows. If you are not satisfied or if the screen just goes black, wait: Windows sets the screen back to the way it was before. Try another setting until you find a display configuration that is compatible with the monitor and meets your needs.
NOTE: If the native resolution is not available, download and install updated video driver software for your computer. Updating the video driver software can add more resolutions (graphics modes).
    8. Restart the computer. The monitor should now display a full screen image in high quality. You are done.
Step 2: Connect to another monitor
Using a different cable, connect the monitor to another computer that has video. Turn on the monitor and the newly connected computer. What happens?
  • If the monitor works, the video hardware on the original computer is likely to be the source of the problems. You can try connecting the original computer to another monitor that works to update its video drivers.
  • If the monitor remains blank, repair or replace the monitor.
