Re: philips dvdr3480 picture problem

Do you find that the picture is much duller when recorded than the original also the DVD player seems to play back DVDs very dull compared to my previous black diamond DVD player.

Swap the scart inputs around. See if that solves it

SOURCE: Changed HDMI settings and can't now see image on screen

I did the same thing, if you hold the hdmi select button on the player (not the remote) while ejecting and inserting a dvd, it will reset so you are able to access the setup menu again.

Watch tv properly with JVC DVD off

Some philips tv's have a built in aerial amplifier, perhaps if you bought a digital aerial booster it will improve the picture quality.

Just got logik ldvr 1608 dvd but it cant find any

You need an aerial to tune the freeview.
However, to record from satelite you can connect a scart lead from the satelite vcr out to the dvd in and it will record vie the av "channel" on the dvd.
Depending on your location, regarding signal strength, you can purchase an indoor, boosted aerial to tune the freeview.
Also, if the scart connection on the dvd is a 2 way connection( allowing a signal to the tv as well as from the tv) you can connect the tv to the satelite and the dvd to the satelite only and the dvd will play through the satelite even when the satelite is off.

With the new HD transfer. We just have atenna...we just bought a HD TV. Is there a way of connecting the DVD Recorder so I can watch one channel and tape another with this new system

A lot of your question depends on your DVD recorder, but there IS a way to connect them so you can watch one channel and record another one.

First - if you have an HD compatible DVD recorder (one that will allow you to select channel 8, 8.1, 8.2, etc) then you could simply split your antenna signal BEFORE the TV or DVD recorder. Then you can select one channel to watch on your TV while selecting and recording a different channel on the DVD recorder. If your DVD recorder is connected to your TV's Video Input, you should be able to monitor DVD recorder's activity by selecting the "Video Input" on your TV.

If you DON'T have an HD DVD recorder, then you will need to get a converter box to put between the Antenna signal and the DVD recorder. You can then set the converter box to the channel you want and the DVD recorder can be set to record it.

DVD recorder only records the channel being watched. How do you record and watch a seperate channel with satelite tv

You need to connect the TV to the aerial output socket on the DVD player. If this is not clear get back to me. Then you can record one channel whilst watching another.

Hdd recorder / recording & watching cable channels

yeah actually that is kinda simple. Like the old vcr recorders you can just put a splitter between the cable (input) and your dvd hdd and your tv.
that is an easy 3 dollar solution
