Question about Toshiba DVD Recorder
Hi I bought this dvd recorder recently. I connected through the satelite, asianet. When ever I watch that channel through the dvdr via scart cable, I get a thick blue or black ribbon like line in the middle of the tv.But if i watch the same channel when the dvdr is on standby mode(off) there is no problem. Please help. Thanks
Do you find that the picture is much duller when recorded than the original also the DVD player seems to play back DVDs very dull compared to my previous black diamond DVD player.

Swap the scart inputs around. See if that solves it

I did the same thing, if you hold the hdmi select button on the player (not the remote) while ejecting and inserting a dvd, it will reset so you are able to access the setup menu again.

if you are using a cable box / converter dvd-r and tv must be on ch 3.............
okay you dont have a cable box the tv is set to ch 3....the dvd-r, set up, initial settings and change cable to air...........then channel setting auto (scans all channels except HBO)...now you able to look at a dvd, record your show (s)

Tries unplug, replug it back like an hour later.Letting the DVD player resetting itself back to the factory setting.Tries it than, see if it work than. Not,than tries hook it up with the RCA component cable Y,R,W.If still have the same problems, the PCB in the DVD player is bad.Not worth repairing.Trash it.DVD players are very cheap these days.U can get a brand new one like for $40 dollars.
