Re: Will not power up when the power button is pressed.

Check your outlet to make sure there is power.  Use an extension cord and try at a different outlet if necessary.  If that fails, you may have a control board problem and needs to be addressed.

I have a red lock button showing in the corner and the machine will not do anything how do i sort this out

I'm wondering if you have activated the child safety lock by mistake? Here's the info from the manual:

If you want to activate or deactivate the Child Lock function, hold

down the Temp. and Rinse buttons at the same time for 3 seconds.

The "Child Lock " indicator will light up when this feature is activated.

When the Child Lock function is activated, only the

Power button works. The Child Lock function remains on even

after the power is turned on and off or after disconnecting and

reconnecting the power cord
I hope that sorts your problem out :-)

I have a Whirlpool solid-state Mark2 top loading washer powers on but just clicks when I push the run button

Pull the unit away from the wall where you can get behind it. Take the access panel off . From the back the control panel. If you have a good multi-meter. Set it on 200 volt AC. Check power at a easily accessible power out let. If you get between 110 and 120 volt reading .your meter is good. Check voltage at starter button with the unit plugged in have someone try the button while you checking for power. If you're not familiar with electrical wiring might have to call someone who is. Chances are your on off switch is bad or the timer is .

I bought a s3865 120 days ago not getting power to turn on switch but power head shows power on

It can be easily identified only if you can use a continuity tester- ohmeter in a multimeter to check the leads. If the wires are short or open this can be confirmed. Remove the puysh switch and check for power to the terminals to confirrm this doubt. Please take care when mains supply is present

Button got pushed in too far and now unable to start machine

Possible that the button is struck and so does not activate the switch. Please try and remove the power and remove the panel to reset the switch contact before the controller panel can be checked.

Washer won't drain

To enter diagnostic mode follow the steps below.
1. Turn the power on at the power point but off at the machine.
2. Press and hold WASH TEMPERATURE SETTING DOWN and then press POWER until the
machine gives 2 short beeps and lights up.
3. Release the buttons after the beeps as the beeps indicate diagnostic mode has been entered.
4.1 Last Fault Data
When in diagnostic mode the last fault can be found by pressing the SPIN SPEED UP or DOWN
buttons until the HOLD and SLOW lights are illuminated. Binary can then be read from the wash
progress lights.
4.2 Drain Pump Test
MW Washer
When in diagnostic mode press SMART TOUCH CYCLES to activate the drain pump. To
deactivate the pump, press SMART TOUCH CYCLES again.
GW Washer
When in diagnostic mode press REGULAR to activate the drain pump. To deactivate the pump,
press REGULAR again.

4.3 Water Valve Test
The water valves can be activated in diagnostic mode by pushing WASH TEMPERATURE SETTING UP to activate the Hot Valve and WASH TEMPERATURE SETTING DOWN to activate
the Cold valve as with previous models.
Pressing each button once will activate the valve. To de-activate valve press the same button
again. This is also good to use when installing machines as it takes the shock out of the fittings
and seals and allows checking for leaks on the inlet hoses, both machine end and tap or super-tub
Caution: Do not leave the machine unattended when either or both valves are operating

Lights are on but Dryer will not power on. It is a Whirlpool Duet Dryer. I think it has something to do with the electronics?

Check to see if the door switch is working. Some times the switch activator located inside the door is broken off. Or the switch does not click when you push on it.
