OK, no help from kenzmailroom... I undid the VGA posts, and was able to remove the cover. I traced the speaker wires to the *upper* *left* board, removed the connectors and screws, and sure enough -- some component leaked (an electrolytic?), and oozed its guts all over the board. I googled the part number as kenzmailroom suggested, to no avail; it appears to be a Samsung part, but their part site doesn't list it, and the one site that does has zero in stock. It's not looking good.

Hey, kenzmailroom -- any response? You said:
"the audio bd is located in the main board conquest its to the right. 3 connections, 3 screws, unplug and look at back of bd if burnt out, needs replaced. ebay the audio bd id stamp and u should be back in business. "
Well, I've got a TV all apart in a spare bedroom with dozens of screws, and I'm nowhere near the audio board yet. I've sent a picture. Can you clarify for me and other interested W3201C owners?
Dan
I should add, I've removed every screw in sight...
I've got this audio problem too, and I'm trying to follow your instructions. But getting to the main board is no simple feat -- I've got the back cover off, and I'm trying to remove the metal grid that covers all the components. The grid seems to be hung up somewhere, right about where I've drawn the circle in the attached picture. Can you advise?
Dan
