Part of web site cut off

I actually have a T3985 - there is a certain website my children use and I cannot get the full web site in view. The maximum button is greyed out, but we can only view a portion of the web site. So far, we have not had this trouble on any other website.

Re: part of web site cut off

There are some sites that cannot have there web page resized, and sometimes it appears that some of the page is missing because the sit was suitable to be viewed in a highr scren resolution, try changing the screen resolution of your pc to a higher one than 800 x 600, something like 1024 x 768 and you should see all the page.

How do i lock the facebook site

The Internet is a vast web of inter-connected servers which may host inappropriate websites for certain people, especially children. The following instructions are for blocking malicious and unwanted websites in all versions of Internet Explorer. If you are using Firefox or other browsers, you may want to consider another, much more advanced way, to block websites using a host file: Use a Hosts File in Windows. Here is the easiest and most effective method to safely surf the Internet through IE.
1)Open Internet Explorer. In the Menubar click Tools ? Internet Options ? Content. In the Content Advisor box, click Enable.
2)Click the Approved Sites tab. Enter the address of the website.
Keep in mind - if you want to block the complete website put * in front. For example to block myspace completely, type *.
Click Never and then OK.

3)Click on the General tab and make sure to selectUsers can see websites that have no ratings
4)Enter a password you can remember easily with a hint.
5)Click OK to safely surf the Internet.
6)Microsoft uses the Family Online Safety Institute for the rating service. You can customize and see if that fits in your need.Consider installing web filtering software which allows or disallows websites based on their content.

  • - Never give out your full name, telephone number, home address or the name of your school

How to block websites using windows, block websites

This tip will be very useful for you.If you want to deny access to any website, you can block any website in your computer or laptop using the internal ip settings in the host's files in the windows directory.
There are softwares available to block websites, but we can easily do that using windows files itself.
The steps to be followed to restrict a website from accessing are detailed given below.
Go through the steps correctly and i have added screen shots of the steps for easy understanding, look at it and try out your self.

1] Browse C:WINDOWSsystem32driversetc .
2] Find the file named "HOSTS" .
3] Open it in notepad.

4] Under " local host" Add , and that site will be no longer accessible.

5] Save the notepad... Ctrl+S...
6] Done...

Now it will be like local host

-->www.sitenameyouwanttoblock is now inaccessible<--

Now when you type the URL of the website in the address in your browser which you have added in the internal ip and on pressing enter...
It will show like " oops the link appears to be broken"...
And your internet connection will not connect to the website server.

For every site that you want to add in the ip , just add "1" to the last number in the internal ip ( and then type the URL of the site that you want to block.

If you want to make it again accessible, delete the URL and the corresponding internal ip and save the HOSTS file.

Thats it...

You can use this to prevent children from getting in to porn portals , scam sites or any other sites...

You can use this to stop children from getting in to virus portals , scam sites or any fake sites...

Hope it will be a useful tip for you... I will try to post lots more useful tips in the future... Encourage me by voting for my posts...

Thanks for viewing my post....

Have a great year...

Thank you...

Certificate error on web site.

This is basically an Internet Explorer 7 Website’s Security Certificate problem! You have to self-sign the certificate on the client computer or add the URL manually to the trusted security zone. When you are trying to access a secure web page, you receive the warning message:

"There is a problem with this website's security certificate. The security certificate presented by this website was not issued by a trusted certificate authority."

"Security certificate problems may indicate an attempt to fool you or intercept data you send to the server."

To fix this issue, you can follow either of the methods:

Method 1:

You have to install the Microsoft Windows Small Business Server 2003 (Windows SBS) self-signed certificate on the client computer. To do this, follow these steps:

  • In Windows Internet Explorer 7, click Continue to this website (not recommended).
A red Address Bar and a certificate warning appear.
  • Click Certificate Error button to open the information window.
  • Click View Certificates > click Install Certificate.
  • Click Yes, to install the certificate, when warning message appear.

Note: For Windows Vista users, right click on Internet Explorer icon. Select Run as Administrator.

Method 2:

Add the URL to the Trusted Sites security zone:

  • Open Internet Explorer
  • Go to Menu bar > Tools > Internet Options.

  • Click Security > Trusted sites > Sites

  • Type the URL in the Add this website to the zone text box > uncheck Require server verification >Add > click OK

  • Click OK to exit.

Now you have added the URL successfully into the Trusted Sites security zone.

Cant stay online. and cant pull up certain sites ie.myspace. may have virus

Some newer viruses block web sites, including sites of most popular virus removal software. If you have a virus removal tool on your machine, unplug from the web and try to run a full scan as the first step.

Computer is suddenly saying there is no audio device ??

If you just downloaded the Audio driver from EMachines site for that model....when you installed it...there should have been a notice about putting a folder in drive C stating that the installer will give you 2 folders, 1 for new driver and 1 for default driver.....Try and see if there is such a folder in your drive C directory and find a Driver folder...should be near top of directory. The actual exe install icon will be in the Audio driver folder.
If all is well with your onboard audio this may be the problem.....but how did the sound stop working in the first place.......could be bad.
If bad or cant fix...I would just put in a aftermarket sound card in one of the pci slots.

I am having a problem logging in to my online banking i am getting a time out dislpay i have talked with and they say because this is a new explorer site they do not except it and i should go...

Personally, Internet explorer just doesn't cut it for a lot of my websites. I've actually had the same exact problem. I've all but completely switched to Firefox web browser. It's backwards compatible with almost every site I've ever visited and I've noticed many fewer crashes.

Try firefox at and see if that works better for you. The best thing about this browser is, the site I visit that must be viewed with internet explorer are viewable. They have a downloadable add-on that lets you run internet explorer in a firefox tab. :)

I hope this helps out, but other then my idea there isn't much you're going to be able to do. If their banking tools won't allow IE8, then you've gotta bite the bullet and use something else.

My children went on inapropiate web site.I can view the web sites on Search the web bar. Every time I click on the arrow I can see the websites. I,ve attempted to delete but I am unable. I,ve called...

Click Here to download Spybot Search & Destroy.
When the download is complete the set up file should be on your desktop. Click on it to install the program. Check for updates and then scan your computer with it. It should clean up anything that the kids may have gotten into.
