Question about Audio Players & Recorders

Light goes on and off lightware vp800

We turn on projector, fan works, light comes on, fan is on high working properly, it runs for 6 minutes, then only the light goes off and the fan stays on (in high position) and within 1-2 minutes the light comes back on and runs for another 5-6 minutes and the light goes off again. Can the thermal switch be bad? We think unit is cooling properly. When turned on and then off fan runs in low position, working properly also.

Old Projector Lightware vp800, I bought it from ebay- he said the bulbs were popping because it was overheating. So he said we may need to replace the fan. We opened it up and sprayed the heck out of it and we noticed that the bulb wasnt popping at all- they were still good- the projector light just turns off and then turns back on. My husband took it all apart thinking maybe it was the thermal switch shutting off too soon because the projector NEVER even got HOT. But now the new thermal switch he put in is even worst becuase NOW it stays light for 1 minute (NOT the 6 Minutes we had before LOL).
He likes to tinker but dont know what more to look for. You think it may be a heat sensor problem? What does that mean?

Hi, How long have you had the unit? If its new take it back and get warranty repair. If longer then, try giving it a good clean. Get some "Air Cans" if you can to blow trough the vents. It could be dust/dirt on the sensor. If you clean it first then we can be sure. If you are ok about taking the casing off then you can give it a better clean. If after cleaning it is still playing up, it is an overheating problem and best repaired by proper service centre as they can get the parts you need.

I meant Heat Sensor problem NOT Overheating problem :)

Its when the system thinks its getting too hot and shuts everything down to avoid further damage. It seems to be partially regulating the system.

You may have board problems if the new thermal switch has made things worse.

See what the system does with NO bulb installed!

    Are they the correct bulbs?
    Try cleaning the bulb holder.

After my vp800 plays for a hours it cuts off. WHY?

Remove the cover and check whether the air filters blocked with dust.
Whenair filters are blocked, air doesn't flow freely through the projector. This result in overheating, leading to automatic shutdown.

Dell 3200MP projector. Lamp warning light comes on after approx 30 minutes of use and the lamp turns off. Bulb is new. I am not sure what the warning light is indicating.

The ambient temperature in the room is to high.
Try lowering the room temperature. If that doesn't work
get a small fan and place it near the projector to provide
extra cooling. The projector is running border line on
high temperature and just needs a little extra cooling.

My Lightware VP 800 fan turns on but when I press the power on button it powers up but no light comes on. The bulb does not need to be replaces. any ideas?

Check the bulb with a multimeter or it could be the ballast .Lots of times it an easy solution like trying another ac cord that fits better or even the ac fuse.

Manual for lightware vp800, and i can't get the sound to work

Try changing to your S video wire input. If you hear a cracking sound it could be you've blown your speakers. It depends on your application but I run all my DVD equipment through my stereo system, just run the same video wire to your stereo and select that input on the stereo .And yes they do have remote controls, try ebay where you can get another vp800 w/remote under 100.

Can't get computer images to project

Hi, I have found out that you must have the laptop set to an external monitor, in the control panel, display area, click on 2, then you must have the projector turned on before you start the laptop so it can recognize that the projector is there. Also make certain that you allow the unit to cool off by turning the lamp off, leaving the fan on and open the door where the projection lens is located.
