Adding more speakers in parallel reduces the impedance, causing the amp to work harder. if you reduce the impedance to much and turn the volume up its a bit like making a short across the output, and has probably damaged the output stage. if you are really lucky it may be fused and simple replacement will fix the issue. if not it could be a costly repair. always observe the minimum impedance rating on your amp and match the speakers to it, never less than it

I don't know which port in the back of the Pavilion to connect the black wire from the speakers (that connect to the right speaker with red and white ends). Any ideas? They are labeled as side, rear...

To get "surround" sound, when you face the computer, you will have:
* 2 front speakers, one immediately on each side of the computer
* 2 side speakers, one on each side of your head
* 2 rear speakers, one behind each side of your head

Thus, when the sound is of a jet-plane coming towards your face,
you'll first hear the sound in the front speakers,
then in the side speakers,
and finally in the rear speakers,
to produce a sound-effect of the jet passing over your head, and going "behind" you.

Usually, for "front" speakers, one speaker connects to the other speaker, and the second speaker connects to the "FRONT-audio-output" connector on your sound-card.

For side speakers, one speaker will connect to the LEFT-side-audio-output port,
and one speaker will connect to the RIGHT-side-audio-output port.

For rear speakers, one speaker will connect to the LEFT-rear-audio-output port,
and one speaker will connect to the RIGHT-rear-audio-output port.

Lg lht854....wont play sound out of rear and center speakers

Try setting it first on surround mode because it is normal for the rear speakers not to come on when it is the surround mode is off. For the center speakers make sure it is hooked up properly. Follow the instruction if you have one. Lastly I never heard of center speakers have two speakers in it but if it does and you only have one set of wire to it then one of the speakers is no good.

I have a new dell inspiron. I just purchased Logitech x-540 surround sound speaker system. The right front, left front, and center speakers don't work. Everything seems to be hooked up right. Any ideas. Is...

Yes there has to be a configuration for the 5.4 surround sound... look if the hardware came with a CD to update the sound driver. or Check if the its correctly configured. on the control panel then click Sound, then depending what windows you have have to lookk for the configuration or properties area and configure as 5.0 or sorround etc.

Part of my speakers are just not working. Hooked up, and unhooked and re hooked, but not all speakers working. Right now just 2 of seven are working.

If u have a surround sound card that supports up to the amount of speakers u have (5.1 or 7.1) try change the speaker settings in control pannel as follows.

Start>control pannel>sound>
and see if u have the setting on stereo, if so change it to the 5.1 or 7.1 setting.

If u have software on the otherhand for your sound card you can configure the settings there to change from stereo to surround sound.

Hope this helped :)

My kenwood surround sounds fuse blew and know theres no sound?

Never bridge a fuse in your life again this is the wrongest thing to do.. Check first there should be IC's skrewed onto a heatsink, some surrounds uses Transistors you should be able to see the burnt ic it will be cracked or burnt, replace that replace fuse if fuse still blow then replace all the ic's on heatsink..

Speaker is not detected

If you are connecting a 5.1 surrround sound rather than 7.1, have you connected the surround speakers to the surround left and surround right rather than surround back left and surround back right?

I hooked two Receivers up in series a Technics SA-DX930 and a different kind I'm not sure wut kind. They worked great for a while, but when they got turned up a little louder they both quit puting out...

you blew your power amp board, you cannot hook them in series due to impediance matching and improper input levels, cheaper to replace reciever than the board
