Cyan cartridge ran out of ink. Printer would continue to print if replied "yes" to msg informing of the empty cartridge. Inserted new cyan ink cartridge (generic brand) and received msg on printer:
Ink System Failure.
Ink system has failed. Unable to copy,
receive faxes, or print. Refer to printer
documentation. Error 0xc18a0107.
Powered printer down and back up, hoping this would reset things. It did not. After contacting the company I purchased the inks from, I replaced a second cartridge (yellow). This one was accepted by the printer as "genuine HP ink." I then tried to print a black & white document, and received the same error msg as above.
(I have used many generic inks in this printer - owned printer for about 3 years and we have been very pleased with it.)
I would be grateful for any insight you could give me on this problem. Thanks.
