Just follow the wires from the blower motor. The thing they plug into is the resistor. It's mounted with two screws.

If you're handy with a soldering iron, you can probably fix the resistor for about a buck or two. Most of the time the problem is the thermal fuse, which costs about a dollar or two at Radio Shack or similar places.

It is next to the blower fan up under the passengers side, I think it has 3 or 4 wires on the plug, just unscrew the 2 screws and disconnect the plug with the wires on it, www.kiatechinfo.com is a great place to get info on kia's, hope this helps, you need to know why the resister is going bad, this means a short somewhere, if the blower shorta out then the resister will get over heated, check the switch you ajust fan speed with to see if it is working right.

Location 2002 kia sportage blower motor resistor

Sorry I can't say precisely where it is. Blower motor resistors get hot and so they are usually positioned close to the motor and placed where they receive a strong flow of cooling air. Sometimes they are made easily accessible and sometimes quite a bit of dismantling is needed and sometimes contortions are needed when the resistor is buried under the dash.

2001 kia sportage limited blower will not work fuses ok told the resistor maybe the promble is there a way to test the resistor?

It is pretty simple. You either have electrical power going through the resistor assembly and then out of the resistor assembly to ground the motor, or you don't.

The easiest place to check for power making it through the blower resistor is at the blower motor connector.

HINT: If the blower will not work on ANY speeds, including "HIGH", it is NOT caused by the resistor assembly.

Heater blower motor.,Highspeed only works..problem??

9 out of 10 times its the heater fan resistor doing this. it has wires that corresponed to diffreent speed settings for heater fan. the resistor is beside the blower motor, Your Kia Sportage Blower Motor Resistor controls the heating equipment in the vehicle by opening and closing the fan motor. The Kia Sportage Blower Motor Resistor allows the heating and climate control system to control the speed of the vehicle's cooling fan. its under the passenger side glove box. undo 2 screws and disconnect the electrical connector. thats it!!

Replaced blower motor in my 2001 kia sportage ex, fan only works on high. Any suggestions?

It could be the blower motor resistor, the high position feeds full 12 volt power directly to the blower motor. All lower settings route through the blower motor resistor. It is usually located under the passenger side dash, not far from the blower motor. Two screws secure it to the heater box.

2005 Chevy Surban blower motor resistor

When the blower is on speed 5, it is a direct 12 volts for high speed and the first four operate through the resistor, check your breaker for the blower motor to insure it is not cutting out.

2005 Kia Sorento only blows hot and cold air on high. Is it a blower motor resistor and if it is where is it located?

If the blower moter only works on hi speed it is the blower motor resistor that is bad. The blower motor resistor is located under the passenger side of the dash next to the blower motor. It is not necessary to remove the blower motor to change the resistor.

1999 KIA Sportage, 2WD. No heat, fan, A/C

did you check the switch to the control cluster ? incase you dont know what im talkin about the switch that turns it on and off and adjusts speed? if its not that then do you have a blown fuse becouse the blower moter has an independant fuse some times in the fuse box there may be 2 1 in the car and the other under the hood try that let me know if its fixed

2001 kia sportage blower motor resister

Rule of thumb...unless you get a better answer:  look for a couple of wires on a small plate that is in the airflow of the fan on the heater/ac unit.  The resistor pack is always air cooled by the fan.

2003 Chevy Malibou RU872 resistor location blower switch relay

For location and replacement of the BMR. Remove the shroud below the glove box, 2 screws and a snap-pop fitting. Be careful of the courtesy light. Remove the blower moter and disconnect the power harness - - you'll need this extra room to work with. 2 more screws, same size, 7/32, 6.5, 7or 8mm on some, that holds the blower motor resistor in place. This replacement part is less than 40 bones at most parts store. Unplug, replace, re-install, test and you're on your way with about 2 hours of slow paced effort in your own driveway. Typical cost at a garage/dealer - up to $400.
