Question about GE Monogram ZDWC240NBS Stainless Steel Wine Cooler

How do I fix loose handle?

My GE ZDWC240NBS wine chiller/ beverage fridge has a vertical stainless steel handle which secures to the door frame in 2 places. The handle connection on top has worked loose over the past year to the point where it pulls away from the door about 1/4 inch every time I pull on the handle. There is a screw or bolt that holds the handle onto the door, but there doesn't appear to be any way to access the bolt to tighten the handle. There is a small hole in the stainless steel tube that wraps around the bolt, it looks like an allen wrench would fit into it and like it might tighten the handle, but I tried both standard and metric wrenches and nothing seems to fit. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks! - Jud -

Yes, I agree, seems like there should be a cap or piece hiding the screw, but I can't find it. One side is the outside of the handle and there is not a cap, the other side is embedded in the door frame ... I removed the rubber seal but the screw is not visible and there is no obvious way to disassemble the door.

Thanks for the suggestion, but I'm still at a loss for how to fix this. And, it doesn't seem like the kind of thing I should have to pay a repair guy to make a house call to fix for me.

I have a U-LINE model with the same issue. I removed the door from the unit by inserting allen key into top hinge pin and removing the pin, door comes off. Four screws on bottom of door will release SS (stainless steel) shell from frame with glass. Then easy access to handle screws...reverse to re-assemble.

This is an easy fix. The 2 screws on the bottom tube are a star bit and not Allen. Loosen these 2 set screws and the handle will come off leaving the tube still on the door. Then inside the tube is an Allen screw to tighten the loose tube back to the door.

This is an easy fix. The part that is loose is the tube portion. The 2 screws on the bottom tube are a set screw that hold the handle. These screws are a star bit and not Allen. Loosen these 2 set screws and the handle will come off leaving the tube still on the door. Then inside the tube is an Allen screw. Tighten this Allen screw and it will fix the problem. Then put the handle back on.

Is there such thing as a single bottle wine cooler?

Of course! There is a wide variety of single cooling systems for wine bottles. We don't drink a lot of wine, but when we have guests over I like to have the wine chilled properly. I prefer the stainless steel coolers, since the look more sleek and stylish.

look for a small hole on one side of the handle. There should be a set screw there you can tighten. (the handle attaches to a ball shaped peg under the handle, and does not attach from the inside of the door)

GE Energy Star French Door Bottom Freezer handle popped off

You cant find a hole to insert screw from outside. It is true, and you can't fix it yourself to what it looked like earlier. The company first screws in through the handle and then covers the hole made by it with the material of the handle. If you have to fix it yourself, you can only pierce those screws through the handle leaving the mark behind. If you don't want that, contact your company or dealer.
