In the middle of washing get an error that is f/dl or f/du. the door will not open even if you unplug it and plug it back in. You have to wait quite awhile and then try and it will unlock. It does this about every two or three loads. The washer is a whirlpool ghw925omw2 type 199-078 wt/gy

My cabrio washer won't unlock lid, dU error, can see a piece of clothing that is stuck through the glass lid, what do I do?
Sounds like the clothing is creating too much pressure on the door and giving you a door lock error. Unplug the wash machine and wait a few minutes, then, while pushing in on the door to overcome the pressure caused by the stuck article of clothing, have someone plug the unit back in. If you've done it right and pushed hard enough, the latch should unlatch.

My magtag 5000 series washer is flashing error code F21, It was in the middle of a wash cycle and now the door is locked and it won't open. How do I at least get the door open. I have unplugged the
Unplug the washer. Then plug it back in and press the button that turns it off. This should unlock the door. Same thing happened on mine and there was a kink in the drain hose. Once I unkinked the hose, unplugged it, plugged it back in, turned it off, then I was able to run a drain & spin cycle to get the water out of the load that was in the washer. I then ran a full wash cycle (they'd gotten stuck in the first drain & spin cycle of a wash) and everything seems to be fine now.

Error code and machine not washing
Some washer and dryers will clear the codes by unplugging the machine from the wall.... Leave it unplugged for 30 secs... then plug it back in..... may clear code..... and may unlock door so you can get the clothes out.


Unsure of the code meaning.... but if you clear it by power down and it works don't worry about it unless it returns quickly.....

WHAT IS DU?
DU is door unlock error - A Door Unlock Error occurs if the door cannot be unlocked. It will try to unlock the door 6 times before displaying the error.

Solutions -
  • Door Lock Mechanism broken.
  • Check Door Lock/Switch Assembly for foreign objects
  • Check Wire Harness connections to the Door Lock/Switch Assembly and Central Control Unit (CCU)
  • Door Lock/Switch Assembly Failure

    I get an error code: F dU and my washer won't drain properly
    I too, had the same issue with the door not opening. My solution was to unplug the power cord and then plug it back in and press the green button's as if to start a cycle and while it starts putting water into the washer I put my knee and weight into the door lock area and held pressure from my knee and press the red stop button until the lights went out, and I took my knee off the door lock area and opened the door!!! No taking off the lower panel.

    Whirlpool Duet Washer GHW9150PWO Have F11 and DL errors. Have replaced the door lock 2 x and still have same error messages.
    Well du is a door lock error but it can also mean an error with communication to the main control board or ccu. f11 is also a communication error in either the ccu or the mcu ( motor control board)......easiest thing to try is to unplug all your connections to the ccu and plug them back in and try it again.....sometimes a wire harness just may be loose....if that dosent work I would look at replacing the ccu ( central control unit )

    Problem
    That is a door lock error code...check the latch and door strike for any damage, also try unplugging washer wait awhile and plug back in. If still get the f/dl than its time to replace either the door latch assembly or the main computer that controls it. Hope this helps - the doc
