Crashes from DDR 1 ram over 2 gigs and all usb devices.

Hello from here you can download a manual:

http://www.ecs.com.tw/ECSWebSite/Product/Product_Detail.aspx?CategoryID=1&DetailID=544&DetailName=Feature&MenuID=24&LanID=0

It supports:

Dual channel DDR memory architecture
DDR400/333/266 DDR SDRAM
4 x 184-pin DDR SDRAM DIMM socket support up to 4 GB

One of the ram modules could have a defect
Try insert one at the time.
You must have a windows 64 bit system to use more than 3 Gb
Try to update the mainboard drivers
The one for the chipset
The ram slots probably not take modules bigger than 1 Gb
There is too types of ram Ecc and non Ecc.
Ecc ram does not work on this mainboard.

Good luck

WON'T START UP ON EITHER SDRM OR DDR

You want to start with also DDR2 ram also. If motherboard of yours do not support you then you want to start your computer as your computer work before you have not entered any SD or DDR ram.

DDR or DDR2

DDR 266 is DDR, not DDR 2 . The 266 is the frequency value in Mhz.

Try having the memory refunded or resell it on Ebay, so that you do not lose your money.

Here is supported memory, many older motherboards do not accept modules of over 512Mb each, ask to the seller:

I can't recognize what specific RAM this motherboard accepts..

Dear sir,

In reply to your post- Generally now a days we use DDR400 RAM(DDR 1) for this type of motherboard. So DDR 400 RAM is More compatible then other RAM,you can use this RAM for your motherboard to obtain good performance.

Change sd ram to ddr ram

Because you didn't indicated the version of you motherboard I need you to go to the ECS website http://www.ecs.com.tw/ECSWebSite/Downloads/ProductsDetail_Download.aspx?detailid=190&DetailName=New&DetailDesc=&CategoryID=1&MenuID=6&LanID=0

On your left select product category motherboards, socket 478, model P4VMM2, the right version and download the manual for your motherboard.

If you look the manual there are few jumper that you need to change.

Usually JP1, j2 and J3 like on this picture.

Let me know if you have problem with the manual, you can give me the version type and I'll find it for you.
