I have an Electrolux refrigerator (ei23cs55gs1) who's display is stuck on "door ajar" and does not let me select ice to dispense only water. The display is not complete (like a series of dashes) but turns bright and shows the temperatures when I go to change (eventually going back to the weird display). Any ideas?

The refrigrator has no problem making ice...we get ice out of it manually and it continues to produce.

You could have a defective switch or a defective display. Check as best you can to see if the switch is being depressed by the door when its closed. Check to see if it works, hold the door open and depress the switch yourself and see if the light goes out. If the light stays on you need a new switch. if the switches seems to work ok you make need a new display board.

SOURCE: water dispenser on front of refrigerator door does not dispense water. Ice Cube maker continues to make ice cubes. Defrosting doesn't fix problem.

Water dispensing solenoid is bad. You need to replace the solenoid valve. This typically is independent of the ice maker.

How do I adjust freezer temperature on Electrolux refrigerator?

Hello friend, thanks for your inquiry!

I see that you would like to know how to adjust the temperature within your Electrolux refrigerator, EI23CS55GS1. To adjust the temperature you would use the control panel on the front of the freezer door. There should be a "-"or "+" near the freezer temperature control and that is how you would adjust the temperature within your refrigerator. Be sure to check and make sure that the control lock is not on or you will not be able to adjust the temperature. Any adjustments made within the refrigerator need at least 24 hours to stabilize. I hope this is has been helpful. -Matt

Ice dispenser solenoid clicks without touching

I've found similar problems and the cause was from where the wiring comes through the door hinge block - the insulAtion rubs through and you'll have a short - start there

Can you adjust the temperature on the water dispenser?

The water for the dispenser comes from a reservoir in the fresh food section behind the crisper drawers. So the only way to make the water colder is to turn down the temperature in the fresh food side of your refrigerator. The water dispenser is designed to dispense chilled water, not ice water. hope this helps.

Electrolux side by side door refrigerator. White

This can be pulled out of the door and replaced with new tubing. You may need to remove the front dispenser panel in order to get the tubing out of the dispenser.

Once you do that then you can pull the remove the tubing and replace it with new line.

I have an electrolux sisde by side with an in door water maker (model EI23CS55GS1). Its about 1.5 yrs old and the water dispenser in the abruptly stopped 2 days ago. The Ice machine is still working just...

More than likely the microswitch for the water lever has failed or broken.
You'll need to access the dual water valve on the back of the unit to determine that when you press the lever - the solonoid on the valve is getting voltage.
If it is getting the turn on voltage - the solenoid is bad and needs replacing.
If it is not getting a signal voltage - the switch is bad.
CLICK HERE for all the diagrams to your unit.
Unfortunately - most parts on this unit are unavailable. I have checked 3-4 different vendors.
This unit also uses a electronic board controller instead of individual components that can be easily replaced.
The replacement module for this unit is $376 and can be seen HERE as part #38C.
The dispenser module (#8) is not available.

Contacting the Manufacturer may be your best bet in finding replacement parts or an authorized repair center that can access the parts.
