Hi George, I believe your Equity wireless thermometer is manufactured by LaCrosse Technology. Here is a link to their website:
http://www.lacrossetechnology.com/
From this page, you can search the type of wireless thermometer or weather station you're trying to use. (You didn't specify a model number in your request). Also notice that there is link on that page for Support; clicking that will take you to the Manuals link. You will need to find your proper model number in the drop-down menu. Also, there is a Contact link, so you can contact them directly for further assistance if you are unable to find your model's information.

The wireless unit that transmits to the indoor unit is weather resistant, but not immersible. Even so, try to shield the transmitter from the sun and rain, if possible. When positioning the transmitter, keep in mind that direct sunlight may cause false readings and mounting it on heat-retaining materials (like brick) will show a higher temperature, even after sunset. Avoid mounting it anywhere near things that give off heat (air conditioner units, dark exterior walls, etc.).
LaCrosse has not yet uploaded the manual for this, but you may check later at:
There is no way to turn off beeping. From this site: http://www.chaneyinstruments.com/FAQ.aspx found solution - search for - Q: My wireless weather station periodically beeps, why? A: .. unit's ability to detect a foreign radio frequency of another wireless unit when that unit transmits a signal. .. any wireless devices transmitting on a radio frequency have the potential to interfere with each other. Limit the amount of wireless devices to lesson the chance of interference. When beeping occurs, one device will need to be deactivated.
There is no way to turn off beeping, d/s designers forgot. I had the same problem, another external temp gauge showed up on the other channel, so my neighbor or someone is using the similar unit. MY SOLUTION: opened back of case and cut black wire to piezo speaker (at base if rear cover opposite side of stand-up prop) that creates beep. Don't use any sound features, ALL good now.
