You should be able to use the AC97 codecs from Realtek with your machine. You have a choice of two - standard AC97 (probably the one you want) or AC97 HD, both are available from the same link and one or the other should be compatible with your device.
Post your results here, especially if this doesn't fix your problem.

I have a friend's home built pc with: Epox 4pda3i mobo Intel i865pe Samsung HDD Emtek video card SB Audigy 2zs sound card 2 sticks 512mb RAM other than what I can gather printed on the hardware that's all I know. She said her sound wasn't working. I opened the case and checked to see if the sound card was seated good. I checked all the connections on both ends leading to the sound card. I closed the case and powered up the computer to find the monitor said "warning pc is entering power save mode". I reopened the case and made sure all the cards and RAM were seated. Since then i have tried removing all but 1 stick RAM, video card and cpu, removing CMOS battery, trying a different monitor, checking and rechecking all connections. All the fans work. I get an "FF" message on the digital display on the mobo. Lights for all drives flash. And I've thought about shaking the thing really hard. Please help me out with some suggestions. What should've been a simple fix has turned into a huge headache.
