Question about Digital Cameras

Unfortunately it appears to me that the CCD sensor in your camera is faulty. Canon have acknowledged faulty CCD's were in certain models of camera as per this statement below: "It has come to our attention that the vendor-supplied CCD image sensor used in Canon digital cameras and digital camcorders may cause the following malfunction: When the product is used in recording or playback mode, the LCD screen and/or electronic viewfinder may exhibit either a distorted image or no image at all. We would like to convey the details and our service policy. We sincerely apologize for the considerable inconvenience this presents for customers who use the affected models (listed below). We spare no effort in our quality management to make sure our customers can use our products with confidence. We hope our efforts will earn your understanding." The picture attached is a sample of a CCD fault. You will need to contact your local Canon repair center to find out if yours is covered by any warranty replacement scheme.
