I assume you mean voicemail messages taken by voicemail service on your telephone line, the ones indicated by a flashing "voicemail" indicator on the phone. You may need to contact your service provider as not all systems are the same, but here's how it usually works. From your home phone, dial your own number so that the voicemail answers. Press the "*" button and you'll be prompted to enter your passcode. (The default passcode is usually the last 4 digits of your phone number, and you enter a new one when you go through mailbox setup.) Once you've entered the passcode and are in the voicemail system, voice prompts guide you through how to access messages and make setup changes. To process is usually the same to check your messages when you're away, although some service providers may give you a different access number to call. Again, check with your service provider for all the details if your system is different.
You need to know the Voicemail access code... I generally set this up as 77, but other installers will set it with a different number. This will be the same number that others in your office dials to reach Voicemail when they have a message.
Your mailbox will also need to be created in the Voicemail system. When you call into it, it should recognize you and prompt you for a passcode. The Mitel Embedded Voicemail system default passcode is 1111. You will be prompted to set up the mailbox and change the passcode.
If this doesn't help, contact your site administrator or vendor.
Step 1
Lift the handset for your telephone and listen for the dial tone. Dial the access code you were given by Verizon when you signed up for residential telephone service. Dialing the access code will call the voicemail system. If you do not have an access code, you will need to call Verizon Customer Service (see link in Resources).
Step 2
Identify the telephone number you are setting up voicemail services for. If you are calling from that telephone number, enter the temporary passcode and then press "#." The temporary passcode is the last 4 digits of your residential telephone number. If you are calling from a different phone, press "*" when the system greeting starts to play, then enter the 10-digit telephone number when prompted. After this, you will be asked to input the temporary passcode.
Step 3
Choose a new passcode. The passcode must be from 4 to 8 digits in length. It should be easy for you to remember, but difficult for others to guess. Do not use easy to guess numbers, such as 1234 or 1111. Also do not re-enter the same temporary passcode, since it will be easy for anyone to guess.
Step 4
Record your name. Simply say your name, without a long complicated message. This recording is used by the voicemail system to identify you whenever you forward a message to another user. It is not used as the standard greeting when a caller is directed to your voicemail to leave a message.
Step 5
Record or change your personal greeting. This greeting is played any time someone reaches your voicemail box. Record a friendly greeting to announce that you are unavailable and will return all calls upon your return. Decide if you want to set up a different mailbox for each family member. Verizon residential telephone service allows you to set up multiple mailboxes so that everyone can have his own private message center. Callers who reach voicemail will be prompted to press "1" to leave a message for one person, press "2" for the next person, and so on.
Step 6
Hang up the telephone. When you have finished setting up the voicemail system on your Verizon residential phone line, hang up the phone to end the call and exit the voicemail system.
Hi,
1.Turn your phone on and press and hold the "1" button on your keypad in normal standby mode.
2.Enter your four digit passcode with your keypad and press *. If you do not yet have a passcode, you will be prompted to create one.
3.Press "1" to listen to the options in English, or "2" to listen to them in Spanish.
4.Press "1" to record your own voicemail greeting. Wait for the beep and speak your greeting into your phone. Press "1" again to confirm your greeting.
5.Press the red "End" button on your keypad and your voice mail will be set up. Press "1" again or at any time to listen to your voicemail by entering in your passcode and following the prompts to navigate your different messages.
Let us know if this helps ...
Thanks
Shiv.
Press the "1" key and hold for a few seconds, this will bring up your voicemail.
Next, key the pre-set passcode of 9999, this will allow you to set-up your own message and passcode. The phone tells you how.
Call your service provider and ask them to reset your voicemail. You will have to set up your mailbox and passcode again, but this should resolve it. If the phone won't call your voicemail, let me know the make and model of the phone and I can tell you how to re-program your voicemailbox #.
OK, from your set;
-> dial FEATURE 9 8 1 (this is the code to get you to the voicemail)
-> then your passcode, if you never set up the voicemail, the temporary password is 0 0 0 0 (four - zero's).
-> if this is a new installed voicemail, the telephone system will tell you al that you need to initiate the voicemail box.
