Hello. Although this should cure the problem, there may be an issue with the battery connector within the laptop, causiong the battery not to charge. You have to perform more diagnostics on your unit before replacing the expensive motherboard. With a charged battery does the unit work? If no, then the problem could be a bad battery connector on the motherboard, or the foil-pattern connections around the battery connector terminals. Sometimes the damage is just around the battery connector terminals that connect it to the rest of the circuitry on the motherboard. I this case the cure could be a simple rewiring of these terminals to bypass the broken circuit board areas, costing you a few mere dollars, a little spare wire and time, or you may need to have this professionally performed if you're unable to do so. Most battery packs can have between 2-8 connections. If any of them get broken or stop working, different things can surface. I'd have someone look into this unit more indepth to correctly identify the problem, unless of course, you can find yourself another working motherboard really cheap. Good luck.
