My receiver is constantly resetting/rebooting on its own. I've checked all connections, tried other power outlets, unplugged, hard reset. Nothing has worked! DVR 622 keeps rebooting. No help from dish network.
Its a problem of faulty hard drive.but you will have to get iot checked at the local repair shop.or connecting the external hard drive to your machine.
Welcome to Fixya. It is more than likely that this is a result of a new bootstrap software package being downloaded to your reciever. If you do not allow it to fully complete then it will continue to retry and reboot everytime you turn the power on. Best suggestion would be to check the screen to see if it is updating and allowing it to completely finish. If that still does not correct the problem then you will need to contact Dish Network technical support and see if they can assist you over the phone. If they cannot correct the problem this way then they will dispatch a technician to your home to investigate and correct the problem. I hope this helps you to get your programming back on as soon as possible and thank you for allowing me the opportunity to assist you. Have a great day.
If the hard drive is bad then the only way to fix it properly without voiding anything from Dish Network is to either connect an external hdd or have Dish Network do either a replacement swap of the reciever or send a tech to replace the faulty drive. I'm sorry that there is no magic quick fix for this problem. Thank you for using Fixya.

Hi,
I suspect that there is either a problem with the LNB or the cable. Make sure you have not accidentally got a strand of the braid touching the inner core.
Maybe try a short length of pre-made cable with the LNB off the dish.
Thanks
Hello, this is Matt Gonzales with DISH Network. When just the green light on the front of the DISH receiver is blinking, the receiver is in recovery mode. Recovery mode can take up to 4 hours, but if it goes past that, try doing a hard reset on the receiver. To do a hard reset, you will unplug the receiver from the power outlet, leave it for 15 seconds, then plug it back in. After doing this, your receiver will go through a rebooting process which can take about 5 minutes. If you have the same problem with the green light blinking, the receiver will need to be replaced. If this is still an issue, please send me an email at [email protected].

No problem with cable or LNB.
Phone and technician unhelpful. Too many receivers.
I need a DIY solution for static, thermal, or bad hard-drive issues. There must be some common known problems with these units as so many people have had the same problems.
The unit is in a very well ventilated area. The hard-drive may be bad, I don't know-- if anyone knows how to test if the problem is the hard-drive, please advise.
I am also suspecting static/grounding.
I have multiple DISH Network 311 DTV Receivers in my house and I have a problem with one of them even if I swap it out with one that works. The problem is that when I plug it in, it goes through the 5 steps of powering up and it hangs on step 5. I have tried several times and it always hangs on step 5. I have tried to reset it but it always stops on step 5.
