Question about Flat Panel Televisions
My TV has sound on analog channels but no picture, and has high def picture but sometimes no sound. When I am experiencing high def picture but no sound, if I turn the power strip that the tv is plugged into, off and then on, I get picture and sound. I have programmed the channels about five times with no change on the analog channels. This tv is about 3 years old and had an audio-video module replaced about four months ago. This was due to a problem where the tv sometimes got no channels or sound for a couple of days at a time. The new module fixed that problem. Any help?? Thanks, Ron

The power supply is having difficulty. The typical cause is
underated electrolytic capacitors. I would examine all the caps
(round cylindrical cans) in the power supply and see if any of them are
bulged. Not a bad idea to just replace all of them with better
These type of caps have all kinds of specs. Not just voltage and capacity, but also temperature, case size, and obtuse stuff like dissipation factor. Most all power supplies use switching type designs that run at serious frequencies (not the old 60 hz - more like 50khz) that stress out these electrolytic caps and many circuit designers (or their cheap bosses) don't specify the better parts. Replace them with the same capacitance, but higher voltage, and higher temp parts (hopefully they will not be too big physically).
Ya, I know you paid $$$ for this TV and they scrimped on cheap parts. Yup, the more expensive a product is, the more pressure the bean counters put on keeping the price down.
Hope Ya Fix It.

SOURCE: NO VIDEO
I have a Samsung 50" plasma, that has been blacking out over the last 6 months. A 9/2005 set. Now its practically unwatchable as it happens 3 times in an hour. Its not heat related - I have a high volume 9" fan activated on TV power on. Turning the set offf/on usually makes it come back for a now short while. Considering to go put it in the back of my pickup and park it in front of Best Buy and discourage Samsung purchases. This is the 2nd Samsung TV I've purchased (the other a 32" tube) I gave to my folks a couple years ago and its gone bad as well. Samsung product may look good, but their video engineers are not.

CHANGE P.A BOARD. THIS BOARD IS FOR TUNNER VOLTAGE..IF THIS BOARD IS BAD, THE LED FLASH 10 TIMES IN RED AND THE TV NO TURN ON.

If using component cables check connections at TV or from source. If all rae ok the try source on another tv before getting video input circuit board replaced on tv
