I just received this camera a few days ago from an online website and have only taken a few pictures with it. I turned it on today and the screen showed pink and red blurs. You can't even make out what it is showing you. I tried resetting all the settings back to default and it didn't work. I took a pictures and was the same image. And suggestions?

Are the pictures only showing brown in the camera lcd, when you transfer to you PC they are correctis yes, then your camera is faulty. It should be taken to an authorized repair centre for a repair estimate. Very few digital cameras have any user-serviceable parts. If you mean you see no picture on the lcd monitor before you take the picture and see it only after you have taken it than this is normal with digital SLRs.
But if you mean you see nothing on the lcd monitor after you have taken a picture ( no playback ) then either the shutter is not working , or the CMOS sensor is not working or the camera is not communicating with CF card.
I have Fuji FinePix 2650 Digital camera with same problem. I can almost guarantee this is not a firmware problem. I went mountain biking a few months ago and take pictures. I take out camera and turn on. I get lines then white screen. I banged on camera and fixed it. Later a few weeks ago I turn it on and white screen. i beat this thing and get bad menu selection screen for a moment then white again. It takes pictures well and talk to computer no problem but no LCD picture. I thinking it is loose connection for LCD. Send it for repair or if you seek adventure try to fix it yourself!
No I don't believe it is your shutter, more than likely it is a LCD Screen problem. I would suggest you take your camera back to the shop where you purchased the camera and have it serviced under warranty.
I had a customer with an Optio 550 come in and it looked like every shot was taken through 'venetian blinds' and the problem was with the LCD Screen and the camera was sent back to Pentax and repaired under warranty.
