Navigation system not working 2005 Honda Pilot

When I insert the satellite linked navigation system DVD Rom by Alpine Electronics I get a reading on the screen saying " DVD reading error (Incorrect DVD Disc) Please consult your dealer " The DVD that came with the car is a BM510AO ver.2.05b. I have been told that this is not the correct disc for a 2005 Pilot. Can you tell me if that is true? If this disc is the correct one is there a way to get it to work. I just read from FixYa that a person just bought a new updated DVD for a 2005 Pilot and got the same reading that I got. I don't want to spend $185 if I"m going to get the same results. Thanks.

Thank you sheiden9 for getting back to me about my navigational system ( the correct DVD Rom to use ) in a 2005 Honda Pilot. How do you feel about getting a used one on ebay? Would I be better off just getting the new 2.60 upgrade? Thanks.

Hi,welcome fix ya. the correct disc for your pilot has a black label and the version should be between 2.11c to 2.60 any other disc will not work in your unit. If there is anything else I can help you with let me know.

How to reset the transponder honda pilot?

I presume you want to initialize or"sync" up your navigation
system to the satellite. You will need the 4 digit navigation
code and the 5 digit audio code. Make sure your vehicle is
parked out in the open where there are no trees over it. Turn it
on and the nav screen should be asking for 4 digit code. That
is the navigation code.If entered correctly the display should change to the disclaimer screen. For the radio to work turn
that on and you should see in the space where the station
frequency appears, the words ENTER CODE.When the 5 digit
radio code is entered correctly the radio should start working.
I hope this helps as it is as short as I can make it. If you don't
have those codes then you will have to get them from a Honda
dealer. Good luck

2004 honda accord ex w/navigation lost guidance voice

It lost the voice and or the voice crackles... I had that same problem. Eventually the entire thing will go out. Check to see what brand CD/DVD drive is mounted in the trunk. Mine was Alpine. If yours is too here you go: Alpine Electronics of America, Inc.
(800) 421-2284 Ext.860304
or
(800) ALPINE-1 (1-800-257-4631)
I paid $150 and the entire thing was fixed. I uninstalled the unit that the DVD for the navigation is in then sent it out. I re-installed it and it worked like new. The dealer charges labor and JACKS up the price. Go directly through the maker!

Honda 2005 Pilot - the updated navigation dvd doesn't work

When your NAVI system comes up, press ok and then the 1, 2 and 4 buttons from the top. Do this in order and hold each button until all three buttons are held down. After 5 seconds this will take you into a diagnostic mode. I'm not sure which menu it is (I think it is the ECU diagnostic), but there is a menu where you can force a download to your old dvd.

Navigation system

Unplugging or rebooting won't solve the problem. Call Alpine Electronics. They are the manufacturer of the Navi System. They will replace it for about $160. Check their website online for their phone number.
