I recommended this to one person who obviously has a bad attitude and just wrote that it was "inappropriate" and spam. I assure you it's not spam and the guy I spoke to had a very good attitude. I sent my camera to them for repair. I hope they can help you.

Konica Minolta DiMAGE E500

I disagree it is a CCD problem. Turn the camera on and observe the diaphram in the lens to see if it opens. If it opens you should see the CCD under a strong light. If not then the problem is with the shutter that allows live view. This model and also Minolta E500 and Vivitar all use the same chassis and all have this shutter problem. I still haven't figured out how to fix it though.

LCD is black

you can see images clearly? but no Menu items show is that what you mean? This would indicate a firmware malfunction. If you see nothing at all on the screen but only 'ghost' images then the back light has blown. Try first of all with the camera on tapping gently at the base of the casing in the region of the screen- this is where the connectors to the main board are. Contact The Minolta support team. If you are getting nowhere - I suggest the next camera - repairs are not usually an economic option if at all.
