Unit will not blow cold air after starting up for first time this season

Unit will not blow cold air....constant 72 degrees air whether set on "Fresh Zone" or Cooling". I have tried resetting the red reset button on right side of front panel..not sure if the button is working because it doesn't "click" or stay in when I push it in. Should it? When the unit cycles to "Cooling" from "FreshZone" about three minutes after I switch to "Cooling", I can hear what sounds like the compressor or something else "kicking in" but the temperature of the discharging air doesn't change..always 72 degrees. This problem occurs whether or not I have the water tank in or out of the unit. Help?

You may need to remove the rear cover to examine what is and is not running. once you remove the back, start up the unit on a workbench. see if the fan is running and the compressor has kicked in. look at the larger or two tubes coming out of the compressor. if it is cooling a small layer of frost or condensation will appear on this " suction" line. if this tubing and the other one are approx the same temperature, then there is a freon leak in the system. Only an EPA certified technician can fill your unit. I am not familiar with that RED button but it mat be a reset of some sort. With the back removed see how it is connected in the wiring circuit. if you have the wiring diagram, please send it to me under my regular email address and I'll walk you through the troubleshooting procedure.

That's because this unit is only designed to cool a room to approximately 75 degrees. It's not supposed to make the room cold, just comfortably cool. It automatically switches off of Cooling when it achieves this. If you want it cooler, you'll have to get a traditional air conditioner unit (like a window unit).

My air conditioner stops cooling. Occasionally, it will just function on fan mode even though I confirm that it is on cool mode. Warm air comes out even on the absolute coldest setting. I have to turn it...

If after reset the A/C cools then the fault seems related to the thermostat or the cut off pressure switch or load cut off.
However is there is no cooling at all the compressor and the gas pressure- check for leak if gas is absent.- must be checked .
If compressor is suspect you must check the estimate and decide whether it seems better to scrap and buy a new one.

Unit won't cool. Unit is set on is on cool, but warm air comes out. Is there a reset button on the unit ? Unit is 21 1/2 years old.

Some of those old Mach 3's have a manual reset pressure switch, but you will have to take the cover off to find it. Most manual resets have a red button to push to reset. The unit may be low on refrigerant or the condenser coil stopped up with dirt.

This is a heating and cooling company looking for a heating element or fuse link. The unit is blowing cold air when on heating setting. Is the heating element behind the evaporator coil?

You're right. The eating element always be behind the evaporator coil. But check whether your unit model has heating and cooling or cooling only.

Amcor 10,000BTU set at 64 degrees - - temperature of air coming out of unit is 72 degrees. In one and half hour set at 64 degrees the room temp only went from 90 degrees to 84 degrees. Recommendations?...

I am not sure, i have a similiar unit that is brand new, seems like a faulty mechanism from the maker, it starts cold for about 2-3 minutes and then shuts down condenser and blows hot air repeating this cycle. I don't believe it ias a recharge, just a faulty machine

I have a 2003 HR Endeavor with 2 roof ubits. The front unit will cool and heat but the rear unit will not come on. The thermostat will not cycle to zone 2. Any suggestions?

Try resetting the thermostat. If you have the 5 button comfort control, turn the thermostat off. While holding down the mode and zone buttons, turn the tstat back on and hold the buttons until FF appears in the display. Release the buttons and then see if zone 2 is available. If not, remove the inner cover off the front air and remove the cover off the control box. Inside this box there are DIP switches (red stripe with white switches). Set the one for zone 2 to off and then reset the tstat as described above. Turn zone 2 back on and once again reset. If this does not work, you more than likely have a bad control board in the front unit as this is the one that controls all that.

Hope this helps,

make sure the system switch is in the cool position, then press run program button and allow a couple of minutes for system to cycle on, if it doesn't come on press the button for lowering the set point, set it to 72 degrees and then press the hold temperature key.

Furnace blows cold air, ignitor won't glow.

ok this is going to sound funny but it seems as though the polarity is reversed going into your furnance. to correct this proiblem you first need to unplug the unit and where the cord goes into the furnance at that connection disconnect the two wires. Once theses are disconnected switch the wires .All you are doing is reversing the way the electricity flows into the circut board. I would wager that is the problem

Mr.Slim Mitsubishi dual zone system

We had that problem with two units that we just had installed. Both are hooked up to one compressor. After several calls and the service person coming out twice, it turned out that they had two wires mixed up when they did the installation. Once they switched the wires the units ran ok. we are having another problem with the units/compressor not working after losing power in our house. We lose power on a regular basis here. Does anybody know if that means we will constantly need to call the service people to come to get the compressor working again? Or is there anything we can do to reset it? The service person that came today was not very helpful and didn't have a lot of answers for us.
