Question about RCA F36665 36" TV

1 Answer

RCA 37'' has sound but no picture

While watching a ball game last week, the picture appeared to be getting "interference" (lines/static in picture) then screen went black and has not come back. Sound is perfect. Any ideas on a fix or if it's even worth fixing?

Color on TV changes to black and white, then after awhile changes back

It is possible to be the box, and not your tv. A good way to test is to see if it does it when you are watching a dvd or another source. (game system, blue ray, ect) Hope this helps! Good luck!

Dell n5050 grey static screen

Sounds like the GPU has over heated and is causing video driver issues. Usually the GPU needs re balling as the solder has melted underneath the BGA chip. A specialized repair is required. Take a look on flea bay for prices.

Philips 27PT6441 27" TV Problem

jon5902,

Pls note that my experience is with the phillips 27" model27PT6341/07. It may not be the same board as yr model, as I can't remember nor find the service manual anymore. (browse around online for it though)

However, after taking the back off. Look close to the rca jack and svideo connection. Mine is located about an inch from the svideo connection.

Here are some pics that may help you.

The new one is the black and gold one marked 10uf 100v in the pic.
Other users have advised to go as high as 10uf 250v, to avoid having the cap overload again.

PS. I had the lines for about 2 weeks. They got steadily worse then one day my tv looked like it was broadcasting an hourglass. The lines converged in the center and flared outward (no pic).

Sound Interference

NO it dosent sound like there related problems at all. Now you say you get interferance or is it more like a static noise only when using the dvd player??? If thats the case then you have an output device problem as its breaking down and crackling into your input to your sound amp or the tv. Its a problem that will need to be traced with a scope and a test disk. as it could be a D to a converter or an op amp IC, or even as simple as a filter cap. Good Luck
