Question about RCA 27R410T 27" TV

1 Answer

Green lines at top

Hello, 1. This TV has always been slow to come on when either remote or button on it is used ... probably should have taken it back then, but since we seldom turn it off, figured it'd work. 2. TV has done well over the last 3 years, except in the last couple of months, there are 3 very tightly placed horizontal lines across the top (down about 3" from the very top of the tv), that stay on it constantly. My husband used to work on the old tvs that had tubes (yea, a LONG time ago!), so if you will use real simple words for any ideas on how to resolve this, it will be appreciated! (BTW, husband says it's fixing to go out, start saving up to buy a new one ... it's ONLY 3 years old for cryin' out loud!) Thanks, jaws

Well i think your husband is right. it might be three years old, but the sligtest damage can kill it. so what you need to do is start saving up for a new tv. sorry for waht happened. maybe somebody hit the screen?

My input button will not bring up the selection of options it should bring up.I cannot play any dvds without using the opton button on my remote. what am i doing wrong?

First of all, is this the first time experiencing this problem? Second, which remote are you referring to that has the 'input button', the TV's or DVD?

You also make reference to an, 'input button, and then an, 'opton button'? What is the difference between them?

In my situation, my TV's remote is used to toggle back and forth between an external source (i.e, DVD or VHS players), and regular TV.

MY TV remote has a 'TV/VIDEO' button, which when pressed allows me to display either 'video-1, video-2, or back to watching TV programs. In my experience, it has always been either a 'source or TV/Video button located on the TV remote that controls all external sources being viewed on the TV.

Also, a simple thought, are the batteries starting to fail. I have noticed that pressing remote buttons and not having something occur right away could be the batteries.

Dish remote 2 will not work all it does is turn on tv that's all.

Hello, Frances.

I can definitely provide some steps for you, and assist in getting this taken care of. I have listed the steps below to program the remote to your receiver. Make sure there are fresh batteries in the remote. Then take the TV2 remote to the main TV, and access the System Information screen.

From there, hold down the SAT button until all mode lights light up. Enter a number between 1 and 15 using the number pad on the remote. Press the pound (#) button. Once the SAT button blinks three times, press record. Test the remote and see if it works. If it's still having problems, let me know here!

Can set up th remote control for this tv with the direct tv cable remote

Here's how to scan for TV codes on your DIRECTV remote

1.Make sure your TV is turned on.

2.Slide the mode switch at top of remote to "TV".

3.Press and hold the MUTE button. This is located above the number 1 button.

4.While still holding down MUTE, press and hold the SELECT button until green light at the top of the remote flashes twice.

5.Then enter 991, the green light on remote should flash twice.

5b. Press 1 again (it will flash twice again), then you press the power on button at the very top right.

6.Point remote at TV and press CHANNEL UP button. Tap the CHANNEL UP button repeatedly until the TV powers off.

*If you hit channel up very fast, you risk going past the code. Pressing channel down will back it up. I alway hit channel up very fast till the tv turns off, then back it up slowly till it comes back on.

7.When the TV powers off, press and release the SELECT button.

*Note: If the green light flashes three times before TV responds, then all codes have been cycled through. Our remote controls are guaranteed to program to your DIRECTV receiver, however your TV may not be compatible with our remote control.

Need Universal code for RCA remote with Apex DT250 Digital Conver

Use cbl/sat button. Your remote might use more or less than 4 digits. Use 749 or 00749. It'll probably work. It worked for me.

I can't get the remote control to accept one of the codes

if the code don't work, use the manual entry that follows after the automatic enter-this-code method. Its more irritating, but is always a sure back-up plan if all else fails. I think its like 1)turn the TV on, 2)press set-up, 3)press the input (source) button on the remote, that you're trying to set up (probably TV), and then, I think, 4)set-up again; 5)then keep pressing power on the remote till it turns off, then 6)press set-up on the remote again. Something like that.

Codes for Apex are 595, 618, 743, 744, 005, 006, 019, 020, 120, 745, and 757.

Codes for Sony tv are 500, 514, 578, 640, 670, 690, and 758.

If these dont work here is what is called a power scan. It will go through all the codes in the remote and find the right code for your tv.

1)hold down tv button next to sat button in top left corner
2) when all buttons illuminate press 500 into remote
3)press pound sign
4)Hello, please help..
5)hold town tv button again.
6)when all buttons illuminate press big red power button
7)press up arrow once a second until tv shuts off
8)press # pound sign
9)try to turn tv back on w/ big red power button
10)if tv doesnt turn back on try again from step 2 but use down arrow instead

To set up caller id you have to enable it on the receiver. Press menu 6-1-2, highlight enable and press select. Highlight done and press select. Press 0 three times. Try calling yourself with a cell phone to see if it works, if not, repost on this thread.

Remote control not responding

Perhaps you can try what I do when my KV24FV300 runs through channels and will not stop.  Hard to watch and remote will not work.  Nothing works but on and off from set.

Sony Says:  Take all batteries out of ALL remotes that you use in any way for that set, VCR, etc.  ALL batteries out.  Turn TV off at set.  Unplug TV.  Wait at least 15 minutes then replace all batteries in ALL remotes.  Plug TV back in and turn TV on from set.

Maybe, just maybe it will work.  If it does not work why not call Sony, they always say that cannot happen but they have a solution for it.
