Need Help With Speaker Problems

Hi people of FixYa, I saw someone else post a problem about need help with speakers, and the solution guy said be more specific. I have a speaker problem. About a few months ago I moved so I packed up my desktop and then set it up again in my new apartment. I know the speaker is not defective, but I just can't get the sound out! The mute is off, volume is maxed, and the taskbar volume is also maxed. I have 2 cords conecting to my monitor. THere is a total of 4 places to put things. The one on the right (if you look from the front of the monitor) is the power cord, and the one on the left is a blue rectangular and black cord. There is another spot to put a cord in the middle of the monitor, but I don't have anything there. Do I have to move my blue cord into the middle? There is a earphone jack in the very middle of the backside monitor, but I can't get sound out of that as well. Maybe I should conect that to my computer? I really would like sound on my monitor, so whoever can help, I would appreciate it! Please state if you need more information. Thank you. Steve

Have you tried the speakers on something else it could be the plug clapped out Thats a bold question when one says "I know the speaker is not defective,".....it sounds simple...but I think a little more common sense HERE!!! You might want to try some headphones if the sound comes out of the computer than the problem clearly lies with the speakers sometimes they may like they were going good but when on the move some strange things happen to the speakers that one cant quite fathom. I think your speakers have clapped out why Im positive they have.......goodluck

If you hear a very high pitch hissing sound coming out from one channel then probably your amp final is gone, in that case you will need to work at component level to fix it

Do you want to know how I fixed my problem? I asked someone who wasn't a complete A-hole, thats how! They told me how to fix it without giving me the run around like Fixya did! Having me spend time typing out and submitting my question only to tell me..." Oh yeah, we might be able to help, or maybe not. Just pay us first and we'll let you know." You guys are a joke! Why doesn't Fixya answer the first question, so people would know if they even have the ability. Yeah, whatever. So, SeeYa FixYa adioss over and out blowholes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

First thing to do is disconnect all speaker wires at the receiver. Then turn the unit back on. If it still shuts down, the problem is in the receiver and it needs to be serviced. If it stays on, reconnect your speakers one by one at the receiver and test. If there is a problem with a wire or a speaker, when you turn it back on it will shut down. If this happens, then disconnect the wire at the speaker and test again making sure the ends do not touch. If it still stays on, check the speaker for a dead short with a meter. If you are not familiar how to do this, go to any shop and they will test it for free. Hope this helps. If you need further help, post a comment and I will be glad to help.

Marshall JCM2000 TSL601 Powers on but no sound

Hi scot4321

Most common cause of no sound is a blown fuse. Check both the fuses with a resistance checker if you have one, sometimes they may look good, but be faulty. If this is the case, you probably need to look for a reason why the fuse blew in the first place. Running a tube rig without a speaker connected is often the problem. the HT fuse will pop almost straight away. Another is using a signal lead instead of a speaker lead to connect your Speaker cab. Always use at least an 18 gauge speaker lead with decent connectors like Switchcraft or Neutrix. NOT a cheapo patch lead. A Failing tube will also commonly cause it to blow. If it happens again, then change the output tubes. If it is not the fuses, and you have experience with repairing valve amps, I suggest you take the head into a repair guy for a look.

I am more than happy to answer any other questions you may have about it, just give me a hoy :) If you still have problems, then before you give a rating for this advice, please get back to me and we can try some more things.
Thanks for using FixYa, If you consider the advice I have given you as sound, a FixYa rating is a great reward for my efforts to help you. Cheers.

My kenwood head deck kdc-mp6036 shows on the screen protect what's wrong with it

Hi,

A "PROTECT" message/display normally indicates a problem with your speaker or your speaker wires. Pls check for any open or shorted (busted speakers) or if any of the wires are touching the chassis/ground.

Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards.
