Need Help With Speaker Problems

Hi people of FixYa, I saw someone else post a problem about need help with speakers, and the solution guy said be more specific. I have a speaker problem. About a few months ago I moved so I packed up my desktop and then set it up again in my new apartment. I know the speaker is not defective, but I just can't get the sound out! The mute is off, volume is maxed, and the taskbar volume is also maxed. I have 2 cords conecting to my monitor. THere is a total of 4 places to put things. The one on the right (if you look from the front of the monitor) is the power cord, and the one on the left is a blue rectangular and black cord. There is another spot to put a cord in the middle of the monitor, but I don't have anything there. Do I have to move my blue cord into the middle? There is a earphone jack in the very middle of the backside monitor, but I can't get sound out of that as well. Maybe I should conect that to my computer? I really would like sound on my monitor, so whoever can help, I would appreciate it! Please state if you need more information. Thank you. Steve

Re: Need Help With Speaker Problems

Have you tried the speakers on something else it could be the plug clapped out Thats a bold question when one says "I know the speaker is not defective," sounds simple...but I think a little more common sense HERE!!! You might want to try some headphones if the sound comes out of the computer than the problem clearly lies with the speakers sometimes they may like they were going good but when on the move some strange things happen to the speakers that one cant quite fathom. I think your speakers have clapped out why Im positive they have.......goodluck

There is no sound in my dell e198fp

Either is problem with speakers or with your software. So just right click on speaker icon in notification area and open playback devices and see if you can see your speaker. and then right click and then select test. If you cant see your speaker in the list, you probably have driver problems and u need to install all necessary audio drivers, if you can see it bt cant listen anything, there is a prob wid ur speakers.

I have an AOC L19WH LCD monitor. I am trying to get sound out of the monitors speakers but am having problems.

I can't find the model number you posted from the AOC website, so its hard to help you.

The only way you can get sound from a monitor is if you plug in the HDMI cable, this means that you need a graphics card with HDMI, very few computers have onboard HDMI.

Monitors that have speakers use HDMI and they need to be plugged into a HDMI port.

If you are using the DVI port, you will NOT get any sound.

You need to post the correct model number or a link to your manual, you also need to post what computer and what graphics card you have.

If you post this info, then someone can help.

The posts above are funny, a PSU has nothing to do with sound.

I have no audio out. Buy my S243HLBMII monitor have a speaker and an audio input. audio input is only enable while I connect the lcd with vga cable. I want to disable the audio in and want to make it audio...

Hi lucasthehack,

I would like to help regarding your concern about the Audio issue you are experiencing with your LCD monitor using HDMI.

Since you are using HDMI you really do not need to look for an audio out to get sounds out of your LCD monitor.

- On your screen you will see a speaker Icon wherethe time is, right click on the speaker Icon then select Playback Devices.

- In the Playback Device Window you will see HDMI on the top of the list right click on it and click set as default, this will give you aduio out from the HDMI connection.

Restart you system with the HDMI conencted to the LCD monitor this should make the changes we made work using HDMI video and audio on your LCD monitor.

Thank you for choosing Fixya,

I can not tell in my monitor has speakers

Most monitors do not have built in speakers and the ones that do have them are usually of fair quality. Look for speaker grills under your monitor's screen. Didn't find speaker grills? You can buy computer speakers at a computer store or at Walmart. Your computer, desktop or laptop, has a green jack that you plug a set of speakers into. The volume control may be on the speakers or on your keyboard.

No sound from inbuilt speakers

this may be a second post since it appears that fixya didn't take the first one:

you should have a speaker cable in addtion to the monitor cable (big thick cable) coming from the monitor. the speaker cable (much thinner with similar plug as free standing speakers) needs to be plugged into the sound output jack on the back of your computer (jack is possibly colored green).

The volume is too low on my computer speakers

Hi, Mark Here, see I can help.

The 1907 does not amplify your sound it will let you control the volume to some degree but not boost the incoming sound.

If you had amplified speakers b4 your sound card requires amplified speakers.

Best two options i can give is.
  1. If it is a desktop you can install a amplified sound card. Hook to monitor speaker.
  2. Unplug monitor speaker &use amplified speakers.
Just so you know laptops use internal amplified speakers. If you decide to install sound card make sure it is an amplified card.

Hope that fixed ya! know not the best news. Need more help comment back. Please Rate.
Good Luck!

Acer speaker?

There are two possible problems here. (1). The volume control on your monitor is turned down. With the button on the front of your monitor, find the menu/option button, and look for volume control (2) The volume coming out of your computer is low. Double click on the speaker at the bottom right of your screen, located on the start bar. Use the sliders to change the volume. This should fixya up.

Good Luck!

Monitor Built in Speaker Problm

Hi shah. It is most likely that the speaker's transformer is burnt. If its under warranty then the showroom guys should fix it for you as its covered under warranty. Otherwise you will need to take it apart remove the old transformer and install a new one. I strongly advise "if you are not familiar with electricals then better take the assistance of a qualified engineer".
