Remote sensor not working

Thought the remote was broken, bought a new universal, works now and then. Discovered no remotes work with our tv. Looking for a solution to operate the tv channels without remote. We can change the channels but cannot get to "Game" to watch a dvd or play video games.

Re: Remote sensor not working

I had a similar problem ... As a last ditch effort I decided to open the back of the remote: 1. I removed the two top screws only (I have a torque screw set) and cleaned the sensor w/ a soft cloth ... 2: I then sprayed a can of air through the opening as I could ... re-aligned case and secured screws. It is now operational again. If this doesn't work check for capatible remotes.

My original remote with this model stopped working several months ago.I bought a phillips universal remote and that worked fine for several months and that stopped working.I bought a new Phillips...

The first possibility is that the new remote control is a dud out of the box. It can happen. Another possibility is that the remote sensor in the TV has failed. Then the remote is transmitting, but it's not being picked up by the TV. (The lights are on but there's nobody home.) If you can, return the new remote to the store and exchange it. Then, if the set still doesn't respond, you'll need to replace the remote sensor.

It is very very rare for this to happen. I would try other remote or you can google universal remote codes and look for other codes.

SHARP T.V. not responding to remote, but remote isn't broken

Same thing happened to my Sharp 29 inch. Stopped responding to original remote the first time, but a universal worked fine. Eventually it stopped responding too all universal remotes. The remotes are good, they work with my VCR, DVD player, and Receiver. It's a nice TV, but having to get up and adjust the volume every commercial break got old a few decades ago! If anyone has any other possible solutions aside from getting the sensor replaced...would be great to hear it.

Remote Control

Sorry to say but it is very hard to get parts for this brand. I don't take them for repair anymore. I have a few Duraband remotes. If you can give me the model number of yours, maybe I have a matching one for you.

Remote randomly works. 27" Symphonic TV... but remote works on other Symphonics in the house

I would get a new remote control first. Just because it is the same brand doesn't mean the same reote codes are used.

If you can use the universal remote to turn the set on and off then your TV is fine. Universal remotes won't control all aspects of the TV.

Cant get to input. front or back

A lot of universal remotes will not work some tv's. It sounds like you may have to replace the remote sensor within the tv.
