The color on our TV is excellent if we are watching cable or VHS, but when we put on a DVD the color changes to mostly black and white with eerie film noire cover overlays in green. We've tried switching DVD players to no avail, so it has to be a problem with the TV. What's going on?
I normally find that the DVD is either in the progressive scan or interlaced mode. If the DVD is in analog inputs (video inputs), then, it should be in the interlaced mode. If the DVD is in the component input, then, it should be set to the progresive mode. On older DVDs, the switch to turn it to the proper mode is on the back or bottom of the DVD. Newer units are on the remote that says progressive or on the menu of the DVD. The owners manual should have instructions on how to change it.
