I have a Dell Latitude D610. At home, myy wi-fi signal typically runs at 48-54 Mbps and signal strength reads as "very good". When I drop my notebook into a D-family docking station (plugged in peripherals = monitor, keyboard, blackberry), my wi-fi signal drops to 34 Mbps and signal strength reads as "low". I have disabled the ethernet internet connection. I assume the docking station is providing interference with the radio frequency of my wi-fi card. Is there anything I can do to fix the situation so that I can use my laptop in the docking station and have my wi-fi signal at peak capacity?

turned on laptop and then saw power to docking station was off--laptop booted off battery and then docking station powered up. Major conflict--happened twice. Second time was the last. Now unit passes power and network to laptop but no dock/undock lights--no USB functions---no ps2 mouse or keyboard functions. Took apart and saw no obvious burns or failures. It's probably toast but.....
