2003 should use R134a coolant for the A/C system. But if it is not gettign cool either you have a leak and/or something has broke.
Either way adding more coolant will not help as if it leaks it iwll just leak back out. And if somethign is bad adding more will over charge the system and maybe break other things.

You should have a vacuum puller, but alternatively, you can purge it by letting in freon on the low side and opening the high side for about 4 seconds, that should purge all the air in the system.
If u are losing brake fluid that means there IS A BRAKE FLUID LEAK. It is a sealed system not supposed to lose any fluid. The cooling system sounds like it may have a clog in it somewhere or is your anti freeze mixing into the oil? Head gasket.

Electrolysis is the likely problem which turns the coolant into large gobs that block the cooling system...touch the negative lead of a voltmeter to chassis ground and dangle the (+) lead into the coolant...Digital meter works best...you must read less than .04 volts...If not, back flush and add the appropriate Motor Craft coolant then recheck...Guru...Saailer
This is usually caused by air in the cooling system. While the engine is cool, check your fluid level in the coolant tank. Then check the radiator to make sure it is full. If both of them are full, the system has to be bled. To bleed the system, take the radiator cap off, start the engine. If there is air in the system it will bubble out and the fluid level will drop, add coolant until this stops.
Well if you mean the A/C system unless you have a safe way to discharge the A/C coolant you should take it to a shop and have them do it. Plus after you are done you will need a vaccum pump to **** all the air out of the system otherwise when you put freon in it it wont work. That and dont forget its illegal to discharge an A/C system without having the proper equipment. Freon Damages the ozone or so they say.. Now if you are talking about the Antifreeze get a pair of vicegrips and remove the radiator hose from the bottom of the radiator.

If you have overheating problem, it can lead to multipleissues. You may be running on low coolant that's why the vehicle overheats. Ifthat's the case, please add coolant and make sure that it sits on the rightlevel, too much coolant can cause overheating too for coolant will overflow.
The vehicle may have a faulty or worn out radiator blowermotor that's why it overheats. If that's the case then you will need a blowermotor replacement to resolve the issue.
If the radiator is clogged with dirt and rusts this issueoccurs too. The coolant doesn't flow normally on the cooling system if it'sclogged. If that's the case, I strongly suggest that you have the radiatorflushed to drain out dirt and rusts. If you think that the radiator served youenough then it's better to have it replaced.
Please do check the radiator hoses, If you have worn outhoses it can cause coolant leakage which can result to overheating. A tiny holeis good enough for the vehicle to overheat.
A faulty thermostat sensor can cause the issue too. If youhave worn out thermostat, the fan may not trigger that's why the fan won't workwhen under stressed conditions. A blown radiator blower fuse can cause thisissue too so I suggest that you check the radiator blower fuse and replace itwhen necessary. What causes the radiator blower fan fuse to blow? It's becauseof a failing radiator blower motor, If that's the case have the radiator blowerfan motor replaced.
If the fluid in radiator doesn't circulate then it meansthat you have a blown head gasket or a faulty water pump. I suggest that you gofor the water pump replacement first specially if you think that it's near theend of it's service life. Usually, water pops out the radiator when engine isreved (a sign of faulty water pump and possible blown head gasket).

Are you sure that it is coolant? The AC system evaporator/core does condensate and it is drained off from the core plenum through a tube that runs out under the passenger side of the fire wall and it can very much resemble a coolant leak (except that it is clear water from condensation and not coolant) and that is a normal condition.
However if it is actually coolant leaking it should not be intermittent and only leak when the AC is operating, and if it does have a coolant leak it should leak any time that the cooling system is pressurized.
Have you actually confirmed that there is a coolant leak and it is not just water from condensation, let me know if the fluid is actually coolant and the only thing that it would most likely be is a faulty radiator cap that is not holding pressure, and when the AC is operating it will cause the cooling system to work harder to cool the engine, and the radiator cap might not be able to handle the extra few pounds of pressure put on it by the AC system.
Does your car have a cap or a sealed unit? You don't want a sealed unit. You want to be able to check your water.Push down and Twist the cap off when cold, not hot, fill it up with coolant, 50/50 mix, and fill up the expansion tank. It says coolant on it. The car will balance itself out. Check the water in your battery while you are at it. It dries out too. Then check the brake fluid, power steering fluid, and oil. That should keep you busy next Saturday. Hope this helps.
your owners manual will tell you exactly. usually all filters should be changed (oil, air, auto transmission if equipped, fuel, cabin air etc) as well as spark plugs and wires, distributor cap and rotor if equipped, check the belts and hoses as well as the charging system. All fluid levels should be checked and topped off. Check your tire p.s.i. as well.
