Windows program shut down Laptop problem model-no-XPS M1530

A problem has been decated and windows has been shut down to prevent damage to your computer.
CONFIG_LIST_FAILED
If this is the first time you've seen this stop error screen. restart your computer. If this screen appers again. follow these stepes:
Check to make sure any new hardware or software is properly installed. If this is a new installition, ask your hardware or software manufacuturer for any windows updates you might need.
If problem continue, disable or remove any newly installed hardware or software. Disable BIOS memory options such as catching or shadowing. your computer, press F8 to select advanced startup options, and then select safe mode.

- I found my restore cds and that fixed my problem but now my laptop wont work with my router. It keeps saying I don't have a network adapter installed. My laptop worked fine before.Clarification Request

Prior to getting the error, did you install new hardware or software? Did you attempt to reboot the machine? What were the results? Did you attempt to boot into Safe Mode? What were the results?

it sounds like the hard drive might be failing or it might be a software problem. Try starting in safe mode and running a full system scan to see if it's sometihngi n the software. If not go to the Bio's screen and run drive self test. you do this in bio's by scrolling with your arrow till you get to a tools menu and then it will say hard drive self test. Your computer then will do 3 tests to determine if you have a harddrive problem. If you do then you will have to have the hard drive replaced. If you have a warranty on the computer call them as they will cover this issue.
