No Audio

Hello,

I have a friend with a systemax, same thing happened to him.

Go into the control panel, select sounds and audio devices, go over three tabs to the audio tab, make sure the sound default device is the onboard audio card. Should be all set.

Let me know how it works out.

Re: Need to do a factory restore

Hello:

REcovery discs can do the task by restoring it to the factory setting. you can insert it directly to the DVD/CD ROM and then boot the pc to the ROM. and the follow the onscreen instruction.

however; if you have recovery disk then you have to provide windows installation disk and install it to the your hard drive.

installation of windows information is found here:
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/316941

may this help you.

Help

Check the manual if you have to use a Recovery Disc to restore your PC or if there is a short-cut that you will press when you booth your PC to restore it to factory settings because most PC's have these. If there is no recovery disc and a shortcut, reformatting it is the only way to restore your laptop to factory settings.

Systemax Laptop Need Restored

Are you talking about the operating system admin password, or the bootup CMOS settings password(s). If it is windows, you can find the administrative password by downloading one of the freeware utilities at this link:

http://www.petri.co.il/forgot_administrator_password.htm

If it is the CMOS password, you can reset it by removing the coin battery on the motherboard on the laptop (this can be *very* tricky depending on the laptop make/model)
