I had the same problem after re-installing windows. The firewire just
didnt work on the tascam interface. I managed to solve the problem by
upgrading from windows xp to windows vista. I downloaded the vista
drivers from the tascam site and everything sprang back into action.
Problem solved! Hope this helps.
Are you running Vista? Lexicon is working on some firmware and software updates to fix the problem. The only workaround is to unplug and replug your USB cable when it stops working. As long as you are actually using the Lambda, it should work.
Which driver are you using now that you have 'converted' firewire to USB? The USB driver or the Firewire driver. I suspect none would work, as the Firewire driver os looking on the FW bus/layer, and the USB there. The devices may not communicate at all in the same way to either interface.
Sounds like a USB issue. Is the device self powered? Did you try plugging in a different USB cable? Is it plugged into a powered hub?
USB 1.1 devices and USB 2 devices can cause issues together on the same bus or port. Try keeping devices separate or plug in just the maudio device. I had issues with USB Network adapters not being seen all the way because there was a older usb 1.1 device on the same hub.
