If you cant fix it with the convergence adjustment then you will need a tec to replace the convergence card i had mine replaced 4 years ago for 300.00 bux and now the tv died 4 hours ago time to drop it off the balcony

Re: Pioneer rear projection 51inch tv

Moving big screens around may throw off the convergence, look to see if you have red, blue or green or all.. ghosts or edges in the picture. you will need a tech manual ..not owners manual to fix it, I would call a local tech and hear what he thinks for just a service charge. good luck

My 51inch sony projection is not in focous. iam seeing three pictures on screen

You need convergence chips. Most likely STK392-560, should be upgraded to 570., and perhaps a couple of blown fuses due to the chips on the power supply. A common repair, about 300-375 in-home and should NOT be much more, unless the DCU is bad or has been corrupted, or someone "played with" the set. .

Red Alignment problem on a Hitachi 51inch rear projection tv

The most likely cause is shorted convergence chips and possibly a few pico fuses.

These sets need to have all three colors - RED - BLUE - GREEN - lined up correctly on the screen in order for the picture to look normal. This is called convergence.

When its out of alignment the video will look 3-D, wavy, distorted, etc. Most of the time you just need to adjust your convergence in the menu. If you cannot adjust it in the menu - then your convergence is broken and needs to be repaired. Convergence problems are very common on all Projection TV sets including Sony,Samsung,JVC,Philip Magnavox,Panasonic,Akai,Pioneer2_bing.gif Hitachi,Mitsubishi,Zenith and others.
You can get a convergenece repair kit with instructions from the links below.

Here are some of the most common problems with these sets...

Problem #1) Convergence

Yours may have one or more of the following symptoms...

*Screen Looks 3-D
*Colors wont align
*Screen may look distorted or warped
*No Audio/Video - TV Shuts down - May also make a constant chirping sound

Problem #2
Another common problem is dull or washed out video.

Your set may have one or more of the following symptoms....

*Dull looking picture
*White looking picture
*Halos around objects
*Red/Orange looking picture

Is the RGB computer-like jack at the rear of the Pioneer PRO-520HD projection TV a digital input like a DVI input? I'm trying to use the TV for BluRay discs. Chris Fox

The RGB input is like a computer monitor input, and may handle HD. I would recommend using component video instead for ease of use, but also most TVs will only handle a couple resolutions, but your component jack should handle 480i, 480p, 720p, and 1080i giving you flexabilty and a comprable picture.

Pioneer sd-p50a5-k remote does not work on tv

The code will vary depending on the maker of the universal remote control. Purchase a universal remote as they are usually around 15 dollars and try it out. Make sure Pioneer TV's are on the list.

Please help

If its a rear projection TV. It sounds like the Lamp is shot on the projector, or is going. Look in the back and see if it is lit if it is flickering I would definitely suggest replacing it. If that doesnt repair it then I would ultimately suggest the optical engine which is the projector of the TV
