After drying clothes, clothes have small holes in them. Daughter put 2 brand new shirts in dryer and ended up with holes in them.

You'll need a drill with a wire brush attachment and take that to the front of the heating element. The heating element gets a lot of crud built up on it and yes it'll put holes on clothes.
