Question about Gigabyte GA-6VTXD Motherboard
I just brought this motherboard at a yard sale and installed it in a machine but after booting it up it asked for password and login.. There's a power-on password that can be defeated by repositioning a jumper anyone know what jumper this is?
Hi, next to the cmos battery is a set of either two or three jumper pins, if it is a 2 pin then just short out these pins for about 10 seconds, this will reset all standard bios settings. If it has a 3 pin configuration then move the jumper from the current seting onto the next one and leave it for about 10 seconds as well, then replace it in the original position. If a Password has been set in the bios by a previous owner then you have 2 options, 1/ take the board to a repair technician to have it removed or loook on ebay, computers & it, software, under "other software you will find a downloadable CD that you can use to do this job yourself. There are also a lot of other useful tools on some of these CD's and they are fairly cheap. Goodluck mistyman
