SOURCE: Ice Maker is not working on my Whirlpool Gold Refrigerator

I removed six screws from the ice maker to pull it out of the refrigerator.  Their are four screws holding the ice maker in place and two screws on the ice maker door.  Had problems getting the electrical harness disconnected.  Used hot water to removed the ice cubes that were struck in the ice tray.  Poured all remaining water into a bucket and re-installed ice maker.  As of now, the ice maker is making ice !

SOURCE: Whirlpool Gold Ice Maker not filling

If your water valve is good and your filter is not in need of replacing then you probable need a new icemaker, yes.

SOURCE: Whirlpool Model GS6NBEXRL01 ice maker not making ice

Most likely the water control valve on back of the refrigerator near floor or the thermostat inside the ice maker is defective. You can fill the ice maker with water from tap and see if it cycles one time or you can check the control valve solenoid that feeds water to the ice maker. Click on link below and then paste your model number in model search feature. That takes you to a page with breakdown photos of the parts I mentioned. On the left of your screen click on photo # 12. If you need help with this I am here, just let me know, Sea Breeze

Ice maker reset

Either valve solenoid supplying water to ice maker is bad, or supply tube to ice maker is frozen(which is typically caused by leaky water valve), or ice maker is bad.

Will front dial rotate if water not entering tray on Whirlpool ED22DQ/RQ icemaker?

Please don't rotate that dial it can damage the ice maker. This sounds like the dual water control valve on the back of refrigerator most times. Part 2002182 Water Inlet Valve

Ice maker not working

try manually filling it with 4 ounces with a cup or baster of water through the front door straight into the ice maker mold, sometimes they will take off on their own,if not remove rear cover behind the refrige where the water fill valve is located, check resistance of water valve to i/m,if ok,then burnish solenoid water valve terminal connections, sometimes they get corroded, just moving this connection will help too

Ice maker stopped working

Pour about 2/3 cup of water into the icemaker . After freezing , it dumps , replace the dual water inlet valve behind the refrig . If it does not dump the cubes , check that the coils are clean under the refrig at the bottom in front , and if they are and the freezer seems to cool good , then replace the ice maker . NOTE : If the ice maker dumps and not refil with water , replace the valve AND check the tube which fills the ice maker inside , to make sure ice has not frozen inside the tube , which also indicates a bad water valve ( seeps ( not closing completely )) .

No water entering ice maker.

Replace the solenoid valve , the piece the wall water line connects to , on the refrig . With both ice maker AND valve replaced , that is the complete ice production new .

I have cold water but the ice maker is not working, there is no water in the ice maker

The refrig has 2 coils on 1 valve . 1 coil is for water dispensor and the other is for the ice maker . You need to replace the water valve behind the refrig . This is the piece that the wall water line connects to on the refrig .

Icemaker not working- red light flashes constantly

The red light should flash twice , pause then flash twice constantly . If you close the flap on the left side , then the light should go off . This shows the optics (ice maker cut off ) are good .

Check the black tube ( fill tube ) , which puts water into the ice maker , to see if it is iced inside . If so , then the water valve behind the refrig is bad . It seeps into the tube and freezes , blocking the water flow .

Pour about 2/3 cup of water into the ice maker . If it freezes and dumps , then the water valve needs replaced . If it doesn't dump , and stays frozen in the ice maker , replace the ice maker . Also , make sure the coils under the front of the refrig are clean , as this will cause warmer temp in the freezer and the ice maker needs 5 degrees to operate .

Ice maker not getting water

keep it simple, if the valve weeps water and the fill tube is freezing up because of it, just replace the valve as that is a mechanical fault in the valve not a control issue,

GE Profile Performance Refrigerator - Ice maker problems

About every two hours you should hear the ice maker cycle. The easiest way to check is to turn the ice maker off using the arm up in the off position. After a few hours open the door lower the arm and observe. The plastic fingers should advance ejecting the ice into the tub. A few swconds after the ejection you can hear the valve and should hear the water fill the tray. If no advance with the ice maker than ice maker, warm temperature, or wiring. If no solenoid sound (ice maker ejector rotates)than electrical or solenoid valve. Solenoid valve and no water - frozen fill hose, blocked hose or unlikely but possible faulty solenoid valve. If you can hear the valve it should pass water!!

If the ice maker doesent cycle CK the temp of the freezer! Must be cold enough for ice maker to work. zero or colder will work for sure and 0 or so is the right temp for freezer. Above 20 don't think it will cycle and would be an indication low freon or bad compressor in unit.
