Question about Sanyo AVM-3659S 36" TV

Snap, crackle sound from Sanyo TV

My 32" Sanyo standard TV just started making a "snap, crackle, pop" sound through the speakers. I can still listen to the audio but the crackling sound is really annoying. When I hit Mute on the remote, the crackling sound stop, but starts when the Mute is released. What's up with that? Thanks for any help.

Re: Snap, crackle sound from Sanyo TV

It sounds to me as if possibly ya Main IC Amp Chip & OR the Output Capacitors are failing... Sometimes it is a sign of a power supply on it's way out... Either way it's time for a repair shop quote. Either that or it may be the speakers crossovers... to check this, if you can, try another set of speaker... see if problem is still there. If it IS, then it IS most probably as I said above.. If NOT then it may be one or both of the "Crossover Network" in each speaker...

I can't get sound from my speakers on my Sanyo HT32744 tv but I can get sound from surround sound speakers through surround amplifier.

Most tv's have a way to turn off the speakers. Either a button on the remote, or in the menu. Go into the menu, sound options. See if it says speakers on/off.

I have a Sanyo AVM-3256 32" tv there is no sound and I have checked the speakers the speakers are fine I dont know what else to check

Is there an audio jack socket at the back? If there is try plugging in an hi fi and see if audio is available. If it is, the problem lies in the audio power amplifier section of the circuit board. With a voltmeter, check that the audio amplifier chip has a supply voltage to the chip. If it has, at the right level, you will need an oscilloscope to check the input signal to the amplifier. Or simply gently tap the input with a screwdriver and if you have a crackling noise from the speakers your audio amplifier chip is ok and the problem lies further downstream.

If the picture is OK with DVD and VCR, then perhaps the problem lies elsewhere other than the TV. It could either be your:
1. aerial antenna or
2. cable connection.

Aerials can re re-oriented/realigned to improve reception or reduce interference while the cable would require that you get in touch with your cable provider. In some instances cable problems could be loose connector at the back of the TV. Additionally, interference can be caused by other electrical/electronic devices. Past experience has shown me that even a 2-Stroke lawn mover/grass cutter has these effects.

Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards.

Thank you for using FixYa.
