You can start by reinstalling your mouse driver or touchpad software. Search the internet for a touchpad program that matches your model. You can even try touchpad programs that may not match exactly but are actually compatible.

Got ERROR CODE-2C00:021D

Anonymous,
The Error code that you have mentioned, 2C00:x21D, indicates that a 'Stuck Key' has been detected. The keyboard is continuously transmitting a scan code. The touchpad error might have come up because of the stuck key. You may have to replace the keyboard.
Thank You,

Cursor problem

Disabling the touchpad on a Dell Inspiron can be useful when typing for long periods of time, or using an external mouse. Bumping or tapping the touchpad while typing can cause cursor jumping and unwanted results. Use the touchpad software to enable or disable touchpad controls. Download the driver for your touchpad at the Dell Support website.

Click on the "Touchpad" icon in the task bar. If the icon doesn't appear, you can download and install the driver for the touchpad from the Dell website, or choose "Start" and "Control Panel." Choose "Device Select" on the touchpad menu, or choose "Mouse" in the "Control Panel" menu and "Device Select." Click "Disable" under "Touchpad" to turn off the touchpad, or click "Disable Touchpad/Pointing Stick When a USB Mouse is Connected."

My cursor on my Dell inspiron 1525 laptop is stuck in the middle of my screen the touch pad isn't working either I was wondering how i could fix this

Try an external mouse. You might have to turn off the touchpad in BIOS (F2 key on boot will get you into setup). Look for Mouse/Touchpad under 'Post Behavior' or perhaps elsewhere (differently displayed in various BIOS setups).

Touch Pad

In the touchpad settings (Control Panel, Mouse) see if tap to click is enabled, if so uncheck and see if there is any difference. Also try booting in the safe mode, and see if that changes anything (F8 during boot to access safe mode) If no difference, then you'll likely need a new palmrest to fix the touchpad. If the touchpad works normally in the safe mode, try a new touchpad driver from support.dell.com
