Ths sounds like the outside unit or compressor is not kicking in, check for power to the unit at the breaker box, or at the bottom of the contacts!

SOURCE: ac fan on, blowing air, but not cold

Check outside unit if unit and compressor are running feel the large line to see if it is cold. If compressor is running and line is not cold possible charge problems. You may have a capacitor problem outside. they go out quite often. You can change this yourself, Open up outside unit and the cap is the silver bullet with terminals out the top. Bad cap can cause compressor to not operate and also the fan. You need to clean the coil inside or at leat check the coil to see if it is clean. You can clean theis with a toilet brush do not go against the coil bit brush with the fins. You may need to call a service tech but try these options first. russ

SOURCE: unit not cooling

Low on refrigerant charge! Low side line should be cold like a beer can at the inlet of the compressor with some sweat beads around it. 55deg. The discharge should be around 125deg just hot enough you cant hold it long!

SOURCE: My Goodman Central AC Unit

Hi, have you checked all breakers, fuses in the disconnect box at the outdoor unit as most have them in behind the pull out off plug. Please give me more information on this and I can solve this for you.
Sincerely,

Hi,
That is a high pressure safety switch....either the switch is bad or you are running extremely high pressure and need to unit serviced...you should hire a pro to find out the exact cause of your problem...gauges will need to be placed on the unit to determine that exact problem.

Changing the air filter on a goodman model # gpg13300701bb outdoor gas AC unit

There should be a panel to remove without needing to remove any screws. Or a panel that states AIR FILTERS. If not, you'll need to remove panel by panel, near the part of the unit where the ductwork connects. If no ductwork connects to the side discharge panels, start farthest away from the o.d. fan motor section. Turn off line voltage power first! Electricity and moving parts are inside and may cause bodily harm or injury. I normally install "Gas Packs" with a filter grille or filter base in duct for easy filter maintenance.

What is wrong with my Goodman AC unit?

Sounds like it has no power getting to it at all. Dont forget that some circuit breakers have UP as ON and some have DOWN as ON. Do not just assume a common way is always the same. You may even have to have one UP and the other DOWN as on. Check what the switch or circuit breaker has written on it to be sure.
AIR CONDITIONERS run like a refrigerator, they manufacture their own Heat or Cool and blow air past the unit to give hot or cold air to cool or heat the Room. These do not require flowing water.
Sometimes people (wrongly) call EVAPORATIVE COOLERS air conditioners. (An evaporative cooler just blows AIR past flowing water to humidify the flowing air and therefore "cool" the area)
An evaporative cooler therefore would require running water and without flowing water, the unit may not start due to the installation of a "fail safe" switch. An evaporative cooler would generally have a large box mounted on your roof with open sides with filters which are kept moist by the running water and through which the fresh air is sucked and pumped into your home.
There are varying thoughts on both, I personally consider the REFRIGERATED style as the most effective type, but they are more expensive to install and run.

How can I make the ac quieter inside the house?

If you have hard ducts, you can use some flex duct between the supply plenum and the hard ducts as a way to quiet the noise down.

I have a Goodman AC unit that isn't working. I believe its the fuse. My power went out and the ac unit stopped working. the first time the repair guy said it was the fuse. I don't want to spend...

Generally, the fuses are located in a box outside by the outdoor unit. The box has a door on it and you will probably have to pull a cartridge out and the fuses will be behind the cartridge. If you don't have an ohm meter to check the fuses , just go to home depot, lowes or another hardware store where they can check them for you. Be sure to check the circuit breakers too.

My central air unit comes on but it's not cool and

to me it sounds like filter are dirty, need to be cleaned or replaced, home systems, packaged or otherwise are hermetically sealed and should not need freon recharge. Always start with airflow and/or unit being set too low. An AC unit of any type will build ice if a) the filter is plugged up and can't move enough air, b) it has been run without the filter, clogging the coil, again, not moving enough air, c) setting an AC unit below 68 degrees F will almost ALWAYS cause icing, and d) running a standard AC when it's warm inside and cold outside (unless equipped for "low-ambient operation"). When in doubt, a bit of maintenance(thorough cleaning) by someone with AC skills can cure a b, common sense will cure c d.
