Question about Zenith P42W46X 42 in. Plasma EDTV
My plasma suddenly didint want to work all i see is yellow lines but i can still hear the audio but cant see anything but vertical lines
If you know anything about electronics, I have one with the same problem, but haven' looked at it yet. I have two that the screen flickers, found a couple bad electrolytic capacitors on the Y-SUS board. I took a good high voltage capacitor and bridged the aluminum surface mounted capacitors, one by one, and when I bridged the bad one the picture was as good as new, replaced it, no more problem. The TV doesn't have a good design, but they probably designed it so the high heat from the heat sink cooks the capacitors mounted above, just when the warranty has expired. I think I'll mount two cooling fans on the heat sinks to dissapate the heat

I have the three zenith plasmas, I've fixed the two that were flickering. The one with the verticle lines, I sawpped the Z-SUS and the Y-SUS from the good TV to the bad and still had the white lines. I looked at the two boards hooked together with 3 aluminum covered ribbon cables that are in the lower center of the TV with all the video inputs, on the far left there is a right angle connector that has about 20 pins, the white cable comes out and goes under to a circuit board this looks like this cable supplies the video signal to the screen. I disconnected the cable and the screen went black, all the voltages going into the video board are normal, so there must be something fried on one of the two boards, there are a LOT of electrolytic caps on those boards. I will post when I figure out whats cooked, you may have the same problem too.

I have just had the same problem. It affects both the component inputs but the A/V inputs are OK. If I disconnect the green input, the screen goes black and displays "No signal." Service guy came out and said the Y-board needed replacing. Haven't done this yet
