Jensen JHT805 System

How to wire

posted by confused88 on Sep 01, 2007

I purchased a used jensen jht805 and I can not figure out how to hook it up. If anyone can help me or direct me to a site where I can get a manual or diagram to get it going I would be very grateful, I am looking forward to hearing the great sound I know I will get from this system... I am desperate because football season is getting ready to start!!! HELP!!!!! Kathie

That part I understand ... like my surround sound on my dvd...easy enough.... but the jensen is not the same I am not sure if I am missing part of it or not. It has 5 speakers (2 front 2 rear one center) then the sub. The sub says jensen js800 and the hook up makes no sense to me I have tried every way to get sound and can only get base nothing from the speakers(the speakers are good I checked them on my other surround sound and all 5 work). The back of the sub has one rc (red) line in
and where the speaker wires are suppose to hook up has 4 out lines 2pos. 2neg.
then 4 in lines 2pos. and 2neg.
It makes no sense and I am about to give up.... Thursday night is getting close
(GO COLTS!!!)
HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It is a powered one...You say "to connect the sub out from the jensen to my sub" What jensen? I am tring to connect my t.v. to the sub and then have the 5 speakers go around the room. But nothing I connect to the sub works the speakers don't seem to work(sub does but speakers won't on that sub) I am attaching a picture of the back of the sub... someone suggested I might be missing a reciever? Is that what you are refering to as my jensen? o.k. the picture will not post "invalid file".... jeez just not my day for computers...ugg!!! it is a js800 but the speakers say jht 805 could that be the problem? p.s. I am sorry for being such a headache! Kathie

From the TV or Cable Box look for the audio output (red/white) use a RCA cable and hook to your Jensen system. Look for audio input on your Jensen and choose the right input selection. Example: Aux connect the RCA on the Aux input, TV connect the RCA on the TV input on your Jensen and so on....

is your sub a powered one? If then connect the sub out from ur jensen to ur sub (red line in). Then try to connect ur 4 speaker on ur jensen take that 2+ 2- for the front speaker use 1+, 1- for each speaker. Make sure you choose the right selector for that input.

1 more thing if there is a stereo selector please try that first to make sur you have a sound on the front speaker.
