I purchased a used jensen jht805 and I can not figure out how to hook it up. If anyone can help me or direct me to a site where I can get a manual or diagram to get it going I would be very grateful, I am looking forward to hearing the great sound I know I will get from this system... I am desperate because football season is getting ready to start!!! HELP!!!!! Kathie
1st off i have the same system, but who ever said you were missing the receiver they are right. the jensen jht-805 (that does come with a JS-800 sub) is not a "stand alone system you need to hook them up to a receiver to get them to work. i have them hooked up to sony 6.1 600watt system and they work great. sorry to have to give you the bad news that you have to buy a receiver to enjoy the speakers.......if anyone could email me on where to buy a replacement speaker for the front one of the jht-805 i'd be grateful (my daughter poked it with a pen) ZaArmees@hotmail.com

Re: how to wire
From the TV or Cable Box look for the audio output (red/white) use a RCA cable and hook to your Jensen system. Look for audio input on your Jensen and choose the right input selection. Example: Aux connect the RCA on the Aux input, TV connect the RCA on the TV input on your Jensen and so on....

Hi, The speakers require a special Speaker wires that can be found at any big markets... Just visit any local market ,preferably Electronic stores and ask for it.. it is a piece of cake...you can do it.... Hope this helps! Take care and please Remember to rate/vote and give me 4 Thumbs Up for me to continue for Helping out the Community :) Thanks
No. The jacks on the back of your tv are line level. That means no power. To get the power, you need a reciever. Red and white RCA wires will go from your tv's out and the other end to an input on your reciever, and your speaker will be wired to the speaker out jacks on your reciever.
Does the yamaha have a subwoofer line out RCA type jack? Most receivers with 5.1 output will. Just insert a male rca to male rca patch cable from the receiver to the line in on the subwoofer,( not the speaker wire inputs) Plate on the sub may say low level input, and setup the receiver menu option for SUB? yes/ no to yes, this will direct the low frequencies to the subwoofer.
You have a green orange and black connection, hook those to the subwoofer, on the other end of each of those connections is a split connection which splits to a Red/White cable that is provided, correspond the red/white to your dvd unit as such (Front Left, Front Right, Surround Right, Center and Sub), if your dvd player only has a 1 white/red port then you will only be able to use the 2 chanels, so just 1 split will be required.
see if ur DVD player has a TV/Audio in....you have to set it up so u watch TV threw your DVD player (if you have one of of the Surround Sound in a box systems) if you have SS w/ a receiver then you'd have to run Audio out from your TV/Cable/Satellite to the receiver for it to work
If you have cables hooked up and have not installed them to the components when turned on the speaker will hum.
If your electrical outlet is not grounded properly you speaker will hum.
Personally I'd take it back and get a new one. if you just purchased it.
If this happens again try a grounded curcit first then go from there.
plug your low input into the subwoofer output of your reciever.that should get the sub working then you have to run speaker wire from your speaker outputs on your reciever into your sub in the top row of inputs then the outputs on the back of sub(the bottom row of speaker hookups go out to your speakers....my email is firstname.lastname@example.org if you still cant get it i can talk you through it on there or ill give you my instant messenger name is you still have problems good luck,b
