Lite On LVW-5005 DVD Recorder video is not working

I was using Lite On LVW-5005 DVD Recorder, when the power problem in India, corrupted the player. I cross checked with my repairer in Bangalore, he fixed the player and gave it back to me. the real problem started when I could not see the video. I could hear the sounds but could not see the video. Upon consulting back to the technician, he told me one of the processors is damaged. how could anybody help me get the processor??? I stay in India. Please let me know.

I have a Lite On LVW-5005 DVD recorder. The problem is, when a dvd is inserted into the machine, it starts to read the disc and then it stops.

Do you have a DVD movie player installed into your computer?
One should have come with your DVD recorder called Cyberlink Power DVD.
Once it's installed it should auto run to the player.

Unplugging the power chord to unit for sometime (around 20 - 30 minutes) and plug back the power chord .
After that press the eject button for 30 seconds at times this may work and you can get back the dvd from the player .

Lite on LVW 5005 NOT WORKING

This is a common problem with the Lite-on LVW range of DVD recorders due to changes in the construction of more recent DVD R media. It can be solved with a relatively simple firmware upgrade.

Goto : http://r00.liteonit.com.tw/DC/english/download/index.asp

You'll need to have a blank CD and a CD/DVD writer in the PC you use to download the file.

Follow the instructions on the website to upgrade your firmware, this should then allow you to write to DVD's once again.
