I just purchased a used NAD receiver model 705 on eBay.
The unit is not working at all. It will power on (the power led turn on and I can hear the relay clicking).
The tuner display won't show any thing.
The amplifier section doesn't work.
I check all the fused inside and they all seemed to be OK.
Any advise for trouble shooting.

As the display lights are blown, you can't see that the unit is in the wrong 'listening' mode. USe the Listen switches to get to the input you are tring to use. The blown lights can be replaced with White or Blue 'wide beam' LED's, one leg connected in series to a 6k-ohm resistor.

The LED's inside the display are burnt out, thats all. When the green light is on the unit is in standby, ITS NOT ON. I just picked up one for $10 with same problem. Try to get something to shine on LED and you can see LED and switch it to the input mod you want, you'll quickly find out its ok. Good luck
