If you have a flash drive, go to http://www.us.playstation.com/Support/SystemUpdates/PS3 and follow the instructions at the bottom of the page. I hope this helps.

Unable to connect playstation network

Do you have the 3.60 update instaled?
If you do, re-check your internet connection, if not, just go to system and update it.
Remember, if you use any custom firmware, it will remove it.

The playstation 3 does not work with certain games saying there is an error on the router (error code: 80710723) How can we open more ports on the router? Thanks for your help

Generally what happens is that progress will stall whilst you are trying to update the firmware or software/games on your PS3, causing it to be corrupted. Your console is then unable to function properly, and you are left trying to "pick up the pieces" as it were. The PS3 error 80710723 is one of these system update errors, and is often experienced by gamers who use wireless connections to update their firmware or games.

So how can you fix PS3 system update error? Here are a few steps you can take to try and fix the 80710723 error code yourself.

  1. In your System Options/Network Settings you need to go and disable a setting called "media server". Doing this has been reported to fix the PS3 system update error in a number of different cases.
  2. If you are using a wireless network connection then switch to a wired connection and attempt to update your console. Wireless connections can have interference, or fail from time to time. Therefore it is better to use a wired Internet connection where possible.
  3. As a last ditch resort you can actually download the update from the Sony website onto your PC, then load that update onto a USB stick and plug it into your PS3 and carry out the update process from there. However, it is best to actually try and fix your connection problems first.

Unable to connect to PS network

This happens when the PS3 Network is under going maintence, it happens atleast once a month. Its not your PS3, just give it sometime and should come back up on its own. Possibly after a update as well.

PS3 may have been doing an update of some kind and you have interrupted it and damaged the system software.
You might be able to download the system software and install it back back it will most likely wipe everything saved on your ps3.
Not sure how to do this as I have never turned off the power during an update ?
Found this site not sure if it will help
as it does not explain how to install the software onto a ps3
https://www.playstation.com/en-au/get-help/ps3-system-software/

but this you tube video explains how to do it
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a5OIZ73U7v0

Also you could have instead interrupted a need for speed update. It needs to update to play in network mode .

CANT GET INTO ACCOUNT

Do you see the menu? or is it just blank with the background? as the new update from the network seems to have affected many ps3s. Consult the ps3 site as there may be an update on how to deal with this but i used recovery mode to deal with it when i experienced a similar problem, again i found how to get to it on the ps3 community site:

How to get to recovery menu
  1. Turn your PlayStation 3 off.
  2. Hold the power button until you hear a double beep, then remove finger.
  3. You should be prompted with a screen asking you to press the PS Button on a controller.
  4. The Recovery Menu should load.
The current Recovery Menu supports:

Restart System
Restore Default Settings
Restore File System
Rebuild Database
Restore PS3 System
System Update BACK UP DATA IF POSSIBLE AS IT MAY BE DELETED USING THIS METHOD!!!!!!!

Ps3 error 80710723

This same problem happened to me awhile ago. The way I fixed it was I went under settings to network settings. Then went down to media server connection and disabled that. Once I did that I had no trouble at all updating games. Hope this helped :)

Ps3

Download the system update from another place. Once the file on the PS3 is corrupted or incomplete it will only try that file.

You can install the system update using your PC by downloading the update to a USB stick or Memory Stick.

Get the system update here.

I had the same Motorstorm issue. Was it the Time Trial download by any chance? Unfortunately you'll have to delete the Motorstorm game data (you MAY be able to keep saved games, but I'm not certain) and then you'll find that that Motorstorm miraculously loads up again...

Browser freezing and no memory

It sounds like you have an early version of the system software on your PS3. There have been a number of updates to address bugs created by the earlier versions of the software. You can get the latest update here: http://www.us.playstation.com/PS3/About/SystemUpdate

Try loading that onto your PS3, and see if it solves the problem.
