What are some cause of oil flow restictions

Assuming the crankcase is full of oil, I doubt the cooler would cause a drop in pressure. Only a small percentage of oil flows thru the cooler.
It could be the pump or strainer, but could also be worn bearings.
The first thing you should do is have the pressure checked with a mechanical gauge to make sure your electric gauge is correct.

Pull the chrome off. Look at the hex nut looking thing that the banjo fitting goes into. Start the motor and look for cracks. They are made out of cast aluminum and tend to crack due to vibrations or over tightening.

depends on the cost, oil seal if you can replace it ,it will sort your problem .but you have a158000miles on cooler already .if cooler is not too expensive i would change it completely

I have a sullair ls - 120 we have been having problems with it getting hot and shuting off oil levels have been fine we have tryed different oil types we have took apart the unloader valve cleaned it and...

Get yourself a temperature gun and check a couple things:
1) Measure the oil injection temperature to the airend. This is a line going into the bottom side of the airend. 2) Measure the discharge temperature from the airend (this should be the same reading as the temperature gauge/readout on the compressor, but check to be sure)
You should get a temperature rise of about 25-30 degrees F over the airend. If you have more rise, you probably have an oil restriction: try an oil filter change.
If your oil injection temp is more than 160 degrees F or so, check the operation of the thermostatic valve. The thermo valve is a T shaped valve in the oil circuit. The oil line out of the bottom of the sump probably goes to a tee which splits flow to the cooler and the thermo valve. The oil goes through the cooler then to the other side of the thermo valve. The thermo valve should then mix the hot oil from the sump and the cool oil from the cooler to maintain the injection temp in the 150-160 degree range.
If you have cool oil coming from the cooler (should be maybe 140 F or less, and the injection temp is high, the thermo valve is bad. You can get a thermostat kit from your vendor to repair. If you've replaced the cooler, this thermo valve is probably the problem.

Why is there a antifreeze leak by my oil filter just after i had dealer change oil. Looks like leak is comming from a very short hose on filter. this is on a 2005 tc with 3.8 and towing package.

This may be coming from a factory installed oil cooler. Before you do anything, I would make the dealer aware of your situation because it could be an expensive repair and, after all, it wasn't leaking before the oil change. Thank you, Dana

hi i have come across this many times the 300 df is a great compressor but in normal mode lacks the cooling and seperation recqired for instrumentation your solution is to fit a seperate cooler and bigger seperator/trap the compressions must be A1with no c/case blow back hope this helps merlin v12

Yes you could have a faulty oil cooler.But The oil in the coolent has nothing to do with the camshaft.There just trying to make a fast buck from you.Tell them just to change the oil cooler and nothing else.
