You need to connect your TV to your receiver and set the input of the receiver to match the input that the TV is connected to on the back of the receiver. This will make your receiver play the audio of what ever is playing on your TV, whether it is cable TV, Blurays, etc.

This is a major defect in the SA-HT830V dual deck that Panasonic did not honor! I've had two of these and the full lighted display blew out on both of them and one music channel does not work on the dvd player anymore. Piece of junk and I'm very upset with Panasonic for not helping/supporting their products!

Try shorting across this fuse protector IP1280 (looks like a resistor) on the power board. See more detailed solution I posted in this forum for a similar question.4a63623.jpg

SOURCE: I have a SA-HT830V Panasonic home theatre system

I have found the solution to this problem. There is a big diode on the circuit you can miss it. Ithe number on the diode is 31DQ04 this diode gets shorted out. therefore the display won't light up. Go to radioshack and buy the the following number 276-1143. " rectifier diode" this is what the diode is doing it is rectifying the AC into DC. the problem should go away!!!!!!

It is not the fuse protector. The fuse is not the problem. I hope this helps.

SOURCE: i hooked up the Panasonic

Look at Page 12 if your TV only has RF coaxial antenna input...

http://www.retrevo.com/support/Panasonic-SA-HT800-Home-Theater-Systems-manual/id/312bh741/t/2/

Add in the Video cable (included) if the TV has an input for it and you'll be able to manage the SA-HT800 through the TV.

Make all the other necessary selections prescribed in the manual.

you want to instead pass the audio from the blueray
either direct to the sa-hr690 via one of its aux inputs
or via the TV

via the TV makes sense

so find an audio out from the tv
some only have headphones
some a pair of phono plugs

so youll prob need phono to phono cables
and then your good too go
