Does it give you any error messages at all when you try to boot it up? Try to boot it up and hit f8 as it is booting up and see if you can get into safe mode. You do need to see why it shut down on you in the first place. Usually when this happens it is because of either a power supply issue or over heating.

How to recover a hard drive that wont format

It depends on what kinda hard disk it is..but usually a hard disk will refuse to format only if it is damaged or if it has some kinda protected files on it ..or old windows files and seam not able to delete them ..In second case try to attach it with another already working system ..and if it is not having a working windows..it may work ..also try to delete manually all files on it first and after that give it a try ..check it for power and correct plug in ..and also check not to have a strange jumper settings ..and make it protected on this operation ..
if all these are out of question ..than it is damaged..unless it still works ..try to see if you can access files on it ..and if it does. seam to work on accessing files..than check its properties..and see not to be set on read only ..or write protected ..

Cant access files on my harddrive

Hello,

It sounds like either the enclosure or the drive inside has failed.

If the enclosure has failed and you don't have any crucial files on it that you don't already have elsewhere, contact Maxtor(Seagate) for a warranty replacement.

If the enclosure has failed and you DO have important files on it, try having your local PC shop move the hard drive into a new enclosure, if that works you're done, buy the new enclosure.

If the new enclosure fails, your drive is damaged and you will need a pro to help get back your files. If this is the case, reply back with you location(Country, State and City) and I will pass along recommendations for your neck of the woods.

Hope this helps FixYa,

Chris

MacBook Desktop Lost My Desktop Folders

Hello, it semms that you have a "permission" issue, or that you are accesing another account on the computer without noticing it. Please repair disk and permissions from the disk utility on your install DVD:

- Insert install DVD
- reboot the mac holding the C key
- choose english
- Go to the utilities menu and choose Disk Utility
- In the disk utility window, SOS tab, select your drive, and hit repair disk and repair permissions
- reboot

Also check that you are accessing the account that you want and not another one: log out, and log in...

Microsoft can replace your CD/DVD for what I believe will be a relatively small amount of money:
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/326246

However, some computers cut deals with Microsoft so Windows cannot be reinstalled -- it can only be "restored" so your hard drive resembles the way it came out of the factory ... which wipes out everything else on your hard drive. My Acer laptop is like that, and there's not much you can do about it except back up your important files to another drive or DVDs, then restore the hard drive, then reinstall all your programs and copy over your data files like music and documents.

I cant see all the files on my sansa on my computer

Hi,
The solution to both ur problems is to change the mode of access in the setup in your player...Mostly MSC mode will help u with better access (ur player will appear as a drive and u can exchange files with it)....

Try it and don't forget to reset the settings to factory default ... ateast once.

Bye

Have a nice day.

I hope ... this solves ur problem. :)
