Green line in middle of tv when switched on

Is there a picture with the green line going through the centre. If it`s just a green line with no picture, it sounds like the Frame (Vertical scan) Output IC has failed and possibly the safety feed resistor near the LOPTX. The reason why it`s a green line is to protect the tube from phosphor damage. The older TV`s would produce a VERY bright white line across the screen which could burn the phosphors withing the tube if left turned on in that condition. It`s not an expensive repair, but is it worth it with the price of Modern TV`s nowadays. If there is a picture with a green line, it may be due to phosphor damage, in which case, it`s a new CRT (tube). Ian

Screen flashes green a couple times then shuts off

you need a new green CRT. The lines were retrace lines which are the first sign of a tube developing a short eventually the green will short completely and cause the set to shutdown.

Green lines

Due to vertical section failure horizontal line apprears. You did not mention about picture. Green horizontal line means with picture or without picture. With picture means there is some leakage. Without picture only singe horizontal line means vertical section totally not working. Particularly green horizontal line means maybe leads to jungle ic failure. Please mention your simptom clearly what you get and what you will not get both video and audio. It will be helpful to answer. Based on your question this is my small information.
